Alright butt… stop what you’re doing, grab a brew (or something stronger), because this might be the most rock ‘n’ roll story of the week — and it’s got absolutely nothing to do with guitars… and everything to do with driving like an absolute legend.
🎸 THE MOST ROCK ‘N’ ROLL DRIVING STORY EVER?
So here’s the craic…
Suzi Quatro — leather jumpsuit icon, bass queen, certified rock pioneer — has just passed her UK driving test at the age of 75.
Now that alone is impressive.
BUT…
Turns out she’s been driving since she was 16…
Which means — brace yourself — she’s been unknowingly driving illegally in the UK for 54 YEARS 😳🔥
Honestly mun… you couldn’t script this.
🗣️ “I’M 75, FOR GOD’S SAKE!”
Suzi herself summed it up perfectly:
“I’m 75, for god’s sake. I’ve been driving since I was 16.”
And you know what? Fair play 😂
That’s the kind of confidence you only get from decades of smashing stages, dodging nonsense, and living life full throttle.
🚨 WAIT… HOW DID THIS EVEN HAPPEN?!
Right, here’s where it gets properly mad.
Suzi had a valid licence over in the US — all legit, all above board.
BUT when she moved over and spent years living and touring in the UK… she never actually converted it or passed a UK driving test.
So technically…
For over five decades…
She’s been cruising around Britain like:
“Yeah this’ll do.” 😎
Absolute chaos. Absolute legend.
🏁 THE MOST LEGENDARY DRIVING TEST EVER
Fast forward to now — Suzi finally books a proper UK driving test and smashes it.
Can you imagine being the examiner?!
You’re sat there with a clipboard thinking:
“Right, let’s check mirrors, signals— WAIT… is that Suzi Quatro?!”
Parallel parking while casually being one of the most influential women in rock history is just outrageous behaviour.
🤘 RIFF REPORT VERDICT — ICONIC ENERGY ONLY
This isn’t just a story… this is a lifestyle.
• Driving first, paperwork later
• Breaking rules without even knowing it
• Passing your test at 75 like it’s no big deal
That’s not just rock ‘n’ roll…
That’s Suzi Quatro energy, mun 🔥
🍻 FINAL WORDS FROM THE FRONT ROW
Massive respect to Suzi — still out here proving age means absolutely nothing, rules are more like “suggestions,” and life’s way more fun when you just crack on and sort it later.
Now if you’ll excuse us…
We’re off to check our own licences before this turns into a group problem 😅
Stay loud, stay safe (ish), and we’ll see you down the front 🤘🔥

A familiar face at festivals across the UK, Michael spends much of the year covering events including Download Festival, Bloodstock Open Air, Steelhouse Festival, Firevolt, Plumpton Revival, and many more. Whether he’s battling the Welsh weather on a mountainside, surviving a weekend in a muddy campsite, or squeezed against the front barrier with thousands of fellow fans, he’s always searching for the next great story to share.
As editor of The Riff Report, Michael writes festival guides, breaking news, album reviews, gig reviews, interviews, opinion pieces, nostalgia features, and behind-the-scenes stories from across the rock and metal world. His writing combines honest opinions, humour, and a genuine love for live music, bringing readers closer to the bands, festivals, venues, and people that keep the scene alive.
Michael is particularly passionate about supporting independent artists, local venues, charities, and the wider UK rock and metal community. He believes every band deserves a chance to be discovered and every festival has a story worth telling. Through The Riff Report, he aims to shine a spotlight on both the biggest names in rock and the future stars waiting to break through.
When he’s not writing or interviewing artists, you’ll probably find him exploring festival campsites, photographing live shows, chatting with fellow fans over a pint, or planning the next road trip in search of more riffs, bigger crowds, and unforgettable moments.
Above all, Michael believes rock and metal are about more than music—they’re about community, friendship, and creating memories that last a lifetime. That’s exactly what The Riff Report exists to celebrate.
Proudly Welsh. Proudly Loud. Always chasing the next great riff. 🤘
