For the uninitiated (where’ve you been, mun?), Independent Venue Week is the annual love letter to the grassroots venues that keep live music alive. The pubs, clubs, basements, and black-painted rooms where bands are born, scenes are forged, and tinnitus is earned with pride.

Independent Venue Week (IVW) is a nationwide celebration of the UK’s independent music venues — the places run by passionate weirdos who do it for the love, not the money (because let’s be honest… there isn’t any).
For one glorious week, venues across the country put on special shows, secret gigs, DJ nights, talks, and chaos-heavy line-ups to remind everyone just how vital these spaces are.
No venues = no bands.
No bands = no festivals.
No festivals = what are we even doing with our lives?

Let’s get something straight: every legendary band started somewhere small.
