Southend city centre is currently swarming with police following a serious incident that appears to have escalated rapidly this evening.
Multiple eyewitnesses report heavy police presence, road disruption, and at least one police vehicle badly damaged at the scene. Locals are being urged to avoid the area completely as emergency services continue to respond.
