Gene Simmons has done the verbal equivalent of stepping on his own dragon boots again, butt β and this time it involved a rather grim prediction about former KISS guitarist Ace Frehleyβs mortality. Yes, the Demon woke up and chose chaos, and now he’s scrambling to stuff it back into the codpiece.
After making comments suggesting he expected Ace Frehley to βdie before him,β Gene has now walked it back with an βI humbly apologise.β A sentence so rare from him it should be in the Natural History Museum, encased in glass, guarded by two roadies and a smoke machine.
Frehley fans β and Ace himself β werenβt exactly thrilled at being treated like a prophecy in a metal-themed version of Final Destination. And honestly, fair play. Youβd be raging too if your old bandmate started publicly predicting your early exit instead of, yβknowβ¦ just ringing you like a normal human.
But to his credit, Geneβs taking the L and trying to smooth things over. Classic βOh crumbs, the internet hates me todayβ energy. Happens to the best of them. Even rock gods.
Still, as KISS dramas go, this oneβs pretty mild compared to the usual fire-breathing, lawsuit-launching, makeup-stealing carnage. For a band that built an empire on pyrotechnics, theatrics, and occasional beef, a stray doom prediction is practically quaint.
Ace hasnβt clapped back (yet), but give it time β the Spaceman knows how to fire a laser or two when heβs in the mood.
π Moral of the story: Never predict the death of a rock guitarist. They live forever.
Like cockroaches.
Or Lemmy.
Or anyone whoβs survived Steelhouse weather. π΄π
Weβll keep an eye on this saga, mun β feels like thereβs another chapter coming, and itβll be louder than Geneβs tongue hitting the floor. Stay tuned. π€π₯
