Well here we go once more unto the breach, fellow maggots. Slipknot’s resident chaos conductor, artistic mastermind, and metallic bonk-wizard Shawn “Clown” Crahan has spoken — and Look Outside Your Window, the mythical, whispered-about, half-holy side-album that’s been teased longer than Half-Life 3…
…is delayed. Again.
Tidy! 😭🤘
🌪️ THE ALBUM THAT’S BECOME A LEGEND
This thing has been promised since 2008, butt. Two-thousand-and-eight! Back when MySpace was still kicking and everyone was pretending to like Muse’s Resistance more than they actually did.
Slipknot recorded this artsy, experimental, emotional companion project during the All Hope Is Gone sessions — and ever since, we’ve been told:
- “It’s coming soon.”
- “It’s nearly ready.”
- “The label doesn’t know what to do with it.”
- “It’ll be out next year.”
- “I need to feel the universe align first.” (Probably.)
And now?
Clown just lobbed another delay grenade straight into the pit like it’s nothing. 💣🔥
🤡 CLOWN’S UPDATE: POETIC, CHAOTIC, AND TOTALLY ON BRAND
In typical Clown fashion (cryptic, philosophical, slightly terrifying), he says the project is still happening, but the timing “isn’t right” yet.
Translation for us mortals:
The Clown Oracle has foretold that the vibes are not immaculate enough.
Back to waiting, mun.
Honestly, if this album doesn’t open a portal to another dimension, I’m going to be tamping. 🥲
😱 FANS RIGHT NOW:
Imagine thousands of Slipknot fans staring out their actual windows, wondering if the album is hiding behind the bins, waiting to jump them.
Memes? Already overflowing.
Patience? Hanging by a leather strap from Sid Wilson’s DJ booth.
Hope? Still alive… but on life support, sipping Monster Energy through a straw.
🎵 WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT LOOK OUTSIDE YOUR WINDOW
Clown, Corey, Jim and Sid were the creative gang behind it. They’ve described the record as:
- “Melodic”
- “Emotional”
- “Not really a Slipknot album”
- “Something completely unique”
Basically: Slipknot, but after doing mushrooms in a forest while discussing art theory. 🌲🌀
And apparently, it’s Clown’s favourite thing he’s ever been involved with.
Which makes the wait even more painful WHAT’S OCCURRING, MUN.
📢 SO, WHEN’S IT COMING?
If we had to guess?
Probably the same week Tool release their next album, Half-Life 3 drops, and Oasis announce their reunion tour.
Which is to say:
Not anytime soon.
But hey — we love the chaos.
Slipknot wouldn’t be Slipknot without at least one annual emotional rollercoaster.
🤘 FINAL WORD FROM THE RIFF REPORT
We’ll be here, peeking outside our windows, waiting for Clown to bless us with this cryptid of an album. Until then:
- Stay heavy
- Stay patient
- And for the love of all things masked and metal… don’t believe any release date until Clown physically hands you the CD, mun.
Diolch and good night, maggots. 🖤🔥
