What’s occurring, mun? After nearly a decade of waiting, the mighty Skunk Anansie have roared back into action with the announcement of their first new album in nine long years. 🤘
The record – their first full-length since 2016’s Anarchytecture – is due later this year, and if the lead single “Cheers” is anything to go by, it’s going to be a proper job of an album: snarling riffs, raw energy, and Skin delivering vocals like she’s still got lightning running through her veins. ⚡
The Single: Cheers 🥂🎶
“Cheers” isn’t some polite little toast at a wedding – it’s a raging, stomping anthem that sounds like a pub lock-in colliding with a riot. Expect chunky guitar grooves, thundering drums, and Skin tearing through the chorus with that trademark ferocity that made Skunk Anansie legends of the Brit-rock era.
If you were worried they’d mellow out after nine years… forget it. This is Skunk Anansie back in fighting form. 🥊🔥
Album Launch Show 🚨🎤
As if that wasn’t enough, the band have also announced an exclusive album launch show where fans will get the first taste of the new material live. You know what that means: sweat, chaos, pit carnage, and Skin commanding the stage like the rock icon she is.
This won’t just be a gig – it’ll be a baptism of fire for the new era of Skunk Anansie. Lush. 🖤
Why This Matters
Skunk Anansie aren’t just a band – they’re a force of nature. They smashed through the 90s with bangers like “Weak” and “Charlie Big Potato”, paving the way for a generation of boundary-smashing rock bands. Every comeback feels like a victory lap, and this new album is shaping up to be a massive one.
After nine years of waiting, the Skunks are giving us something to shout about – and you can bet The Riff Report Crew will be front and centre, pints in hand, yelling along. 🍺🔥
👉 Are you buzzing for new Skunk Anansie? Will you be at the launch show? Drop your thoughts below, crank “Cheers” at full blast, and let’s raise a glass to the return of one of Britain’s loudest, proudest rock exports.
Diolch, Skunk Anansie – we’ve missed you! 🏴🤘
