Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2025 Nominees:
Who’s In, Who’s Fuming, and Who Got Snubbed Again 🙃
It’s that time of year again, butt – when the music world throws on its fanciest leather jacket and argues about who deserves a spot in the hallowed halls of rock ‘n’ roll glory… and who got mugged off once again. The 2025 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Nominees have been announced, and oof, it’s a spicy lineup!
Whether you’re screaming “YESS MUN!” or “I was TAMPING!” – here’s the full breakdown of the artists and bands up for induction, plus our cheeky take on each 🤘
🎤 2025 Nominee List (In Noisy Alphabetical Order):
🖤 Oasis
About bloody time! The Gallaghers’ legacy is undeniable – from Manchester’s rain-soaked streets to Knebworth-sized chaos. Will they reunite if they get in? Don’t hold your breath, butt.
Riff Report Reaction: “Shove ‘em in already, Hall of Fame! They made a whole generation believe in the power of parkas and petty sibling drama.”
🔥 Ozzy Osbourne (Solo)
Already in with Sabbath, but The Prince of Darkness’ solo career? Bats, blizzards and bangers. From Crazy Train to No More Tears, Ozzy deserves his second crown.
Riff Reaction: “Two rings for the Madman, please. Diolch.”
🎧 Daft Punk
Yes, they wear robot helmets. No, they’re not traditional rockers. But the Hall’s always been eclectic, and Random Access Memories was a cultural reset.
Riff Verdict: “We’ll allow it. But only if they show up and actually speak.”
🐍 Whitesnake
Get the hairspray and white denim ready! Coverdale and co. are still slithering through arenas with sexy solos and 80s power ballad perfection.
Riff Reaction: “Gimme all your love tonight AND a bloody induction.”
👑 Mariah Carey
Yes, that Mariah. The whistle notes. The Christmas domination. The diva of divas. While she’s more pop and R&B, her influence can’t be denied.
Riff Response: “Alright, fine. But only if she shares a green room with Dave Mustaine.”
💃 Cyndi Lauper
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun is a rock anthem in platform heels. Lauper’s style, voice and legacy? Legend status unlocked.
Riff Reaction: “We’ll drink to that. Tidy.”
💿 Sinead O’Connor
An emotional one 💔. Sinead’s legacy has grown posthumously, and rightly so. Fearless, powerful, and never afraid to ruffle feathers.
Riff Verdict: “Proper job. Make it happen.”
🎸Lenny Kravitz
He wants to get away, and we say LET HIM – to Cleveland. Funky, filthy riffs and timeless cool.
Riff Take: “Yes, and send us his scarf collection too.”
💥 Jane’s Addiction
Alt-rock pioneers who literally helped invent Lollapalooza. Perry Farrell deserves his flowers (and possibly some CBD).
Riff Report Rant: “These weirdos helped shape 90s chaos. Let ‘em in!”
🖕 Snoop Dogg
You read that right. Uncle Snoop is nominated. Why? Because rock ‘n’ roll isn’t just guitars – it’s attitude. And this dude’s got more attitude than a Welsh mam with no milk for her tea.
Riff Reaction: “C’mon then, dogg. But only if he brings Martha Stewart.”

🤘 The Riff Report Final Verdict:
This year’s nominees are a bit of a wild stew – one part rock royalty, one part pop glitter bomb, one part robot funk.
But we’ll say this:
🎤 If Ozzy doesn’t make it, we riot
🎧 If Oasis reunite, we faint
🎄 If Mariah wins, we’ll be hearing about it till Christmas 2099
💬 Who Do YOU Want In?
Sound off in the comments, butt! Are you backing Britpop? Rooting for robot disco? Praying for a live Snoop jam with Whitesnake?
👇 Drop your takes faster than a Mariah whistle note.
And don’t forget to vote, yell, and rage responsibly.

Michael is the founder, editor, and chief riff wrangler behind The Riff Report, an independent Welsh rock and metal publication built by fans, for fans. With a lifelong passion for loud guitars, unforgettable live shows, and the incredible community that surrounds rock and metal, he created The Riff Report to celebrate everything that makes the scene special—from legendary headline acts and grassroots venues to rising bands that deserve to be heard.
A familiar face at festivals across the UK, Michael spends much of the year covering events including Download Festival, Bloodstock Open Air, Steelhouse Festival, Firevolt, Plumpton Revival, and many more. Whether he’s battling the Welsh weather on a mountainside, surviving a weekend in a muddy campsite, or squeezed against the front barrier with thousands of fellow fans, he’s always searching for the next great story to share.
As editor of The Riff Report, Michael writes festival guides, breaking news, album reviews, gig reviews, interviews, opinion pieces, nostalgia features, and behind-the-scenes stories from across the rock and metal world. His writing combines honest opinions, humour, and a genuine love for live music, bringing readers closer to the bands, festivals, venues, and people that keep the scene alive.
Michael is particularly passionate about supporting independent artists, local venues, charities, and the wider UK rock and metal community. He believes every band deserves a chance to be discovered and every festival has a story worth telling. Through The Riff Report, he aims to shine a spotlight on both the biggest names in rock and the future stars waiting to break through.
When he’s not writing or interviewing artists, you’ll probably find him exploring festival campsites, photographing live shows, chatting with fellow fans over a pint, or planning the next road trip in search of more riffs, bigger crowds, and unforgettable moments.
Above all, Michael believes rock and metal are about more than music—they’re about community, friendship, and creating memories that last a lifetime. That’s exactly what The Riff Report exists to celebrate.
Proudly Welsh. Proudly Loud. Always chasing the next great riff. 🤘
