Heaton Park, Manchester โ July 20, 2025
By The Riff Report Team ๐ค๐ด
The dust has barely settledโฆ but Manchester is BUZZING. Close to 80,000 fans spilled out of Heaton Park tonight with one thing on their lips: โThat. Was. F****ing. Magic.โ ๐คฏ๐ฅ
Tonight marked the final night of Oasisโ monumental five-show run at Heaton Park โ the emotional, beer-soaked, flare-filled crown jewel of the Live ’25 Tour. And if this was your first gig? Welcome to the jungle, butt. ๐๐ธ
๐ A Homecoming for the Ages
You couldnโt turn a corner in town this past week without being smacked in the face by Manc pride and Oasis mania. Bucket hats. Parkas. Supersonic chants echoing out of pub doorways. Manchester wasnโt just the venue โ it was the star of the show. ๐ซ
Even Noel Gallagher โ king of sardonic smirks โ got misty-eyed during the encore.
โFor the last ten days the eyes of the world have been on this city of Manchester,โ he told the crowd.
โAnd I just want to say to all Mancunians โ youโve done yourself f***ing proud.โ
Go on lad. Proper job. ๐ฅน
๐ถ Wonderwalls, Flares, and Grown Men Crying
From the opening riff of Rock โnโ Roll Star to the final chords of Champagne Supernova, the set was pure anthemic bliss. Fans screamed every word like their lives depended on it. There were tears. There were beers. There was even a lad in a Liam wig doing high kicks by the loos. (We saw you, Dai from Rhyl. You legend.) ๐ฆต๐บ
And when the first chords of Donโt Look Back In Anger hit? BOOM. 80,000 voices in unison. Flares lit. Arms wide. Not a dry eye in the park.
Even Billie Eilish, playing her second night at Co-op Live nearby, probably heard the roar. (Sorry Billie. Tonight wasnโt about whisper-pop. It was about northern swagger and wall-shaking choruses.)
๐ The Not-So-Glam Side: Travel Carnage Incoming
It wouldnโt be a UK megagig without travel chaos, right? As fans tried to make their way home โ or to the nearest kebab shop โ they were met with:
- ๐ง M60 CLOSED due to a fatal collision.
- ๐ฆ”Severe delays” around Heaton Park.
- ๐ Packed trams and buses rammed tighter than the front row during Morning Glory.
If you didnโt pre-book a taxi, youโre either still walkingโฆ or sleeping on Gallagher Hill with a bag of chips as a pillow. ๐ฌ
๐ง From Britpop to Brotherhood: A Long Time Coming
This wasnโt just a gig. It was a reunion no one thought would happen.
The Gallagher brothers havenโt shared a stage since their infamous split in 2009 โ a backstage bust-up that felt like a divorce for an entire generation. ๐
But this summer? They came back. Together. Stronger.
And not just for a money grab โ this was raw, emotional, triumphant. A band that defined a decade, finally giving the fans what theyโve begged for since we were all still burning CDs and wearing bootcut jeans. ๐ฅ๐
๐ฌ The Fans Say It Bestโฆ
โF****ing speechless. Best night of my life.โ โ A lad covered in glitter and pint foam
โWe waited 16 years for thisโฆ and it was worth every second.โ โ Mum of 3, absolutely bawling during Slide Away
โThis gig healed something in me I didnโt know was broken.โ โ Woman hugging her ex outside the merch stand
Oasis arenโt just a band. Theyโre a feeling. An era. A bloody movement. And tonight in Manchester, that movement roared back to life. ๐ฆ๐ค
๐ What Next?
No official word yet if Oasis will take Live โ25 beyond the UKโฆ but whispers of Europe and North America are already swirling like Liamโs parka in the wind.
For now, though? Manchester has done its bit. The city sang its lungs out. The fans partied like it was Knebworth all over again. And the Gallaghers? They proved that sometimes, just sometimesโฆ you DO look back in anger โ and find something beautiful waiting there. ๐ค
Tidy gig. Legendary night. See you in the next lifetime (or on the 02 Priority queue tomorrow morning). ๐๐๏ธ
