Some songs were simply born to be blasted through venue speakers with a pint in hand and zero concern for your hearing by the end of the night.
Alice Cooper’s legendary anthem “Poison” is absolutely one of them.
And now, Nothing But A Good Time have thrown themselves headfirst into the iconic rock classic with a performance that’s packed full of swagger, sleaze, riffs, and enough glam-metal energy to wake the ghosts of Sunset Strip. 😈🎸
🖤 A CLASSIC ROCK MONSTER STILL HITS HARD
Released back in 1989, “Poison” remains one of the biggest rock anthems ever written. Massive chorus. Dirty riffs. Arena-sized attitude. It’s the kind of song that can instantly turn a quiet crowd into a full-on singalong mob after two notes.
Nothing But A Good Time clearly know exactly what makes the track work — because this performance doesn’t feel like karaoke or a copycat tribute.
It feels like a proper celebration of classic rock excess. 🔥
🎤 VOCALS WITH ATTITUDE
You can’t sing “Poison” politely.
This song needs danger. Swagger. A little bit of chaos. The sort of vocal delivery that sounds like it’s wearing eyeliner and leaning against a jukebox at 2am.
Thankfully, Nothing But A Good Time absolutely nail the vibe.
The vocals carry the right mix of grit and melody while still keeping that theatrical Alice Cooper spirit alive. Big chorus hooks, dramatic delivery, and enough confidence to carry the whole room along for the ride.
Proper job, mun. 🤘
🎸 RIFFS, SOLOS & FULL GLAM-METAL ENERGY
The guitars sound massive throughout the performance — chunky rhythm work, sharp lead lines, and all the flashy hard rock goodness the song demands.
There’s a real live energy here too. It feels raw enough to keep the spirit of a proper rock show while still sounding tight enough to make every chorus hit hard.
You can practically smell the hairspray and stage smoke through the speakers. 😂🔥
🍺 BUILT FOR A LIVE CROWD
The best thing about this performance?
It feels like it belongs in a packed venue with beer flying through the air and everyone screaming the chorus back at the stage like it’s 1989 all over again.
That’s the magic of songs like “Poison”.
And that’s the magic Nothing But A Good Time manage to capture here.
This isn’t just a cover.
It’s a full-blown rock party.
🤘 RIFF REPORT VERDICT
Nothing But A Good Time have delivered a version of Alice Cooper’s “Poison” that’s loud, theatrical, fun, and dripping in classic rock attitude.
If you love your rock anthems huge, your choruses louder than common sense, and your guitar solos soaked in pure glam-metal glory… this one’s for you.
Turn it up. Annoy the neighbours. Lose your voice singing the chorus.
That’s what rock ’n’ roll was built for, butt. 🔥🎤🍺
