Long before walls of Marshall stacks appeared, Knebworth House had already enjoyed centuries of history.
Dating back to the 15th century and transformed into its striking Gothic appearance during the Victorian era, the estate has been home to the Lytton family for generations.
Its huge parkland offered the perfect setting for large public events, although nobody could have predicted that it would eventually become Britain’s answer to Woodstock.

🎸 1974 – The Birth of Knebworth Festival
Everything changed on 20 July 1974.
Legendary concert promoter Freddie Bannister launched what would become the Knebworth Festival, bringing together some of the finest musicians in the world for a huge one-day event.
Unlike camping festivals such as Glastonbury, Knebworth focused on massive standalone concerts featuring world-class artists.

🌈 1975 – Pink Floyd Push the Boundaries
