โMaybe weโll have Noel Gallagher come up and do a songโฆโ ๐๐ธ
Rock fans love a bit of cheeky banter, and System Of A Down guitarist and vocalist Daron Malakian delivered exactly that during the bandโs massive London performance, taking a playful swipe at one of Britainโs biggest rock exports โ Oasis.
While addressing the crowd between songs, Malakian couldnโt resist poking fun at the Gallagher brothers, jokingly suggesting that Noel Gallagher might make a surprise appearance on stage.
The crowd immediately erupted with laughter and cheers as the comment landed perfectly, adding another memorable moment to an already explosive night.
๐ค Rock Meets Britpopโฆ Sort Of
System Of A Down have never been known for sticking to the script. Whether itโs political commentary, unpredictable stage banter or genre-defying music, the band have built a career on keeping audiences guessing.
This time, however, it was all about having a laugh.
With Oasis dominating headlines following their hugely anticipated reunion shows, Malakian clearly saw an opportunity to poke a little fun at the Britpop legends. While there was never any real chance of Noel Gallagher wandering on stage, the joke instantly became one of the standout talking points from the evening.
๐ฅ Fans Loved It
Videos of the moment quickly began circulating online, with fans enjoying the unexpected crossover between two of rockโs biggest names.
Some joked that hearing โChop Suey!โ followed by โWonderwallโ would have been the strangest encore in music history, while others imagined what an Oasis/System Of A Down collaboration might actually sound like.
Safe to sayโฆ it would probably be absolute chaos.
๐ค A Band Still at the Top of Their Game
System Of A Down continue to prove why theyโre one of heavy musicโs most exciting live acts. Their shows remain packed with crushing riffs, massive singalongs and plenty of unpredictable moments that keep fans talking long after the final note.
Whether itโs launching into classics like โB.Y.O.B.โ, โAerialsโ, โToxicityโ or throwing in off-the-cuff jokes like this one, every performance feels like an event.
And if Daron Malakian is going to keep winding up other rock icons along the wayโฆ weโre absolutely here for it.
