CARDIFF, YOU WITNESSED HISTORY. But not just the rowdy, pint-sloshing, Gallagher-banter-flying kind — nah, this one hit different. Oasis’ monumental reunion gig at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium tonight delivered the nostalgia, the chaos, and yep… the tears. 🥲
Because mid-set, just as the first unmistakable chords of Don’t Look Back In Anger floated across the sea of bucket hats and Manc-accented chants, something special happened…
🐝 Manchester Bees on the Big Screen
The house lights dipped. The band hit that first verse. And behind them? A field of bees swarmed the stadium’s giant LED screens — not the buzzing kind to swat away, but the symbol of Manchester’s defiance, strength, and unity since the tragic 2017 Arena bombing. 💛
The tribute was subtle but striking. No speech. No fuss. Just imagery. Emotion. And the sort of collective exhale that only a band like Oasis can command.
The moment was brief but hit like a brick. The Welsh capital stood still — pint-holding arms around mates, strangers, partners. “Turned her face to the wall…” — and every single soul knew this wasn’t just a gig.
This was bigger than the band.
🎶 Why Don’t Look Back In Anger Still Matters
Let’s rewind the tape.
After the horrific attack at the Manchester Arena during an Ariana Grande concert in May 2017, the city found itself united not just by grief — but by music. Specifically, this song. 🎵
It wasn’t even an Oasis single about tragedy. But somehow, “Don’t Look Back In Anger” became the anthem of healing. The chorus echoed in vigils. Buskers played it in St. Ann’s Square. Ariana brought it back at the One Love Manchester concert. Liam performed it live for thousands, solo.
Tonight, in Cardiff, it returned again. But this time, with both Gallaghers on stage. Together. And that matters, mun.
“And so Sally can wait…”
…and for once, even the most leathered-up lads in the stands had a tear in their eye.
🏴 Rock ’n’ Roll, Respect, and Remembering
Look — Oasis might be the band for chucking flares, chanting footy songs, and arguing about setlists. But when they want to send a message? They send it.
This wasn’t flashy. No PR stunt. No overdone light show.
Just a quiet nod, a song that’s meant the world to many, and a reminder that music isn’t just for the headbangers — it’s for the heartbroken too. 💔🎤
And tonight, from a sweaty mosh in Cardiff to the cobbles of Manchester, that message rang loud and clear:
We remember. We won’t forget. And we’ll sing louder than ever.
🎤 Gig Highlights? Oh, They Were Lush Too…
Let’s not pretend it was all teary-eyed tributes. Cardiff got the full Oasis madness tonight:
- Liam in a parka? Check.
- Noel looking like he just wandered off a posh golf course? Double check.
- Cigarettes & Alcohol? Roared louder than a Six Nations try.
- Phones in the air during Champagne Supernova? You know it.
- Flares being launched during Supersonic? Security were sweating buckets.
But that bee moment? That’s the one people will be talking about for years. That’s the photo going in scrapbooks. That’s the one you’ll tell your grandkids about. 🐝

💥 The Riff Report Verdict
This wasn’t just a reunion gig. This was a cultural reset, a full-circle moment, and a reminder that music doesn’t forget. Not the pain. Not the people. Not the city that raised the band.
Oasis might’ve had their beef. Their drama. Their endless solo projects. But when it came down to it, they stood together — and they stood for something. 👏
And tonight, they reminded us all what rock ’n’ roll is really about:
🔥 Volume.
💔 Vulnerability.
🐝 And never looking back in anger.
