The internet’s favourite rock survivors are back, and they’re not messing about.
Canadian rock titans Nickelback have officially announced their brand-new studio album, Everything Under The Sun, arriving on 30 October 2026, and they’ve kicked things off with a thunderous new single, “Rattle The Cage”, featuring none other than guitar wizard John 5.
Whether you’ve loved them since How You Remind Me dominated every radio station on the planet or you’ve only recently rediscovered the band, one thing is undeniable – Nickelback know how to write arena-sized rock anthems, and this latest chapter looks set to continue that tradition.
🔥 “Rattle The Cage” Opens A New Chapter
The first taste of the album comes in the form of “Rattle The Cage”, a hard-hitting rocker packed with chunky riffs, soaring choruses and enough energy to shake the foundations of any festival stage.
Adding John 5 into the mix only turns the volume up another notch. Known for his incredible technical ability and work with artists including Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson and Mötley Crüe, his guitar work injects even more firepower into an already explosive track.
From the very first listen, it’s clear Nickelback haven’t lost their knack for writing songs designed to be blasted through massive PA systems with thousands of fans singing every word back at them.
🎤 Chad Kroeger Promises Something For Everyone
Frontman Chad Kroeger says the new record represents every side of the band.
“This album showcases every facet of our band. There are songs that are harder than anything we’ve done before, songs that break new ground, and songs that remind us why we’ve been doing this together for so many years. ‘Rattle The Cage’ was the perfect song to kick off this new phase – it embodies exactly the energy we thrive on night after night on stage. We can’t wait for people to hear it.”
That’s a bold statement from a band with over two decades of chart-topping success behind them, but if the lead single is anything to go by, they might just have another massive album on their hands.

🤘 One Of Rock’s Biggest Success Stories
It’s almost impossible to talk about 21st-century rock without mentioning Nickelback.
Despite years of internet memes and jokes, the numbers tell a completely different story. The band have sold more than 50 million albums worldwide, packed arenas across the globe, and produced some of the biggest rock singles of the modern era.
Songs like Photograph, Rockstar, Far Away, Burn It To The Ground, Animals, and How You Remind Me have become staples of rock radio, sporting events and festival playlists alike.
Love them or hate them, when Nickelback release new music, the rock world pays attention.
🎸 The Artwork Looks As Epic As The Music
The newly unveiled album artwork is every bit as dramatic as you’d expect. A glowing celestial circle surrounded by mysterious symbols frames an endless blue sky, giving the cover an almost cosmic feel. It hints at an album that could explore plenty of different musical directions while keeping that unmistakable Nickelback identity firmly intact.
It’s bold, mysterious and looks fantastic—exactly the kind of artwork that stands out on a vinyl sleeve.
🎥 Have You Heard “Rattle The Cage” Yet?
The official visualiser for “Rattle The Cage” is available now, giving fans their first taste of what’s coming later this year.
If the rest of the album matches the intensity of this opening track, Everything Under The Sun could become one of the biggest rock releases of 2026.
🤘 The Riff Report Says…
Let’s be honest, butt… Nickelback have spent years being one of the most joked-about bands on the internet, yet they continue to sell millions of records, headline huge arenas and release songs that people secretly know every single word to.
“Rattle The Cage” sounds like a band that’s still hungry, still writing enormous hooks and still determined to fill arenas with fists in the air.
Throw John 5 into the mix, crank the volume until the neighbours complain, and you’ve got one seriously exciting start to Nickelback’s next era.
We’ll be counting down the days until 30 October. 🤘🔥
