Well, thatโs not the headline we thought weโd be writing in 2025, but here we are. Even Mr. Danger Zone himself โ Kenny bloody Loggins โ has had enough of Donald Trumpโs nonsense.
After a bizarre (and yes, slightly gross) viral video started making the rounds featuring Trump and a remixed version of Logginsโ iconic hit, the smooth-rock legend was not amused. The clip, created by Trump supporters, reportedly used Logginsโ track in a meme-style edit that quickly spread across social media.
But Kenny ainโt having it. Speaking out this week, he said:
โI canโt imagine why anybody would want their music used or associated with something created with the sole purpose of dividing us.โ
๐ฅ Boom. Straight out of the soft-rock comfort zone and into the moral mosh pit.
This isnโt the first time Trumpโs team has landed in hot water for using music without permission โ everyone from The Rolling Stones to Linkin Park to Neil Young has told him to stop nicking their tunes for rallies or videos.
Logginsโ message, though, hits harder because it cuts through the noise: itโs not just about copyright โ itโs about values.
Heโs basically saying, โDonโt drag my music into your circus, pal.โ ๐ช
For fans, itโs another reminder that even the smoothest dudes in rock have limits. You can take the man out of the โ80s soundtrack montage, but you canโt take the conscience out of the man.
๐ฌ What do you reckon, butt? Should artists be able to block politicians from using their songs completely โ or is it fair game once itโs out in the wild?
Either way, Kenny just reminded us all: the real danger zone is letting your art be weaponised. ๐ซ๐ถ
Tidy quote, Kenny. Proper job. ๐ด๐ค
