Hold onto your pint glasses, Leeds — the post-hardcore tornado known as Versus are officially launching their debut full-length album The Catalyst, and they’re doing it with a gig that’s guaranteed to melt faces, shatter ceilings, and probably summon the spirit of Kurt Cobain for a cheeky sing-along. 🤘😈
This isn’t just a show.
It’s not even just a launch party.
This is THE moment Versus detonate their biggest musical statement yet — and they want you right there in the blast radius.
📅 THE BIG NIGHT
Friday, 12th December 2025
📍 Lending Room, Leeds, LS2 3AP
Small venue.
Big riffs.
Maximum chaos.
C’mon butt, what more do you need?!
The Lending Room is about to witness absolute bedlam as Versus rip through new material, old favourites, and whatever else they decide to smash us over the head with. Expect noise. Expect sweat. Expect someone to lose a shoe in the pit. (If it’s you… proper job!)
💿 THE CATALYST: A NEW CHAPTER IGNITES
Versus have been grafting since 2016 — gig after gig, breakdown after breakdown, chorus after chorus that hits harder than a steel toe-capped boot to the ribs. And now? They’re levelling up in style with The Catalyst, their first full-length album, built from pure heart, grit, and enough angst to power the national grid.
Inside the record you’ll find:
🔥 Grunge grit
🔥 Post-hardcore bite
🔥 Atmospheric melodies
🔥 Emotional sledgehammers
🔥 Those massive Versus choruses you can yell at the ceiling
This gig is your chance to hear the songs as they were meant to be heard — loud enough to liquify your eardrums and pure enough to hit you straight in the feels.
🎤 WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE LAUNCH GIG
Picture this…
The room goes dark.
The crowd roars.
The first riff drops like a brick through a greenhouse.
Shortie storms the stage, vocals slicing through the air like a buzzsaw with feelings.
Sparks and Rob weave those razor-edged guitar lines.
Bear shakes the floorboards with bass thunder.
Calvin detonates the drums like he’s trying to summon a weather event.
That, mun, is a Versus launch show.
Full immersion. Full volume. Full chaos.
If you leave without sweat in your hair and someone else’s voice ringing in your ears, were you even there?
🗣️ THE CALLING OF THE FANS
This is one of those gigs people brag about years later:
“Oh yeah, I saw Versus at The Catalyst launch show before they blew up.”
“Back when they still played tiny venues and you could actually see the whites of Shortie’s eyes.”
“Only in Leeds, mun…”
So if you’ve been with them since the early days — or if you’re just discovering the madness — this is your moment to show up, scream, support, and become part of the story.
