At this point, Shinedown arenโt just visiting the top of the rock charts.
Theyโve practically got their own parking space.
The multi-platinum American rock heavyweights have officially landed their 26th Number One on the Mediabase Active Rock chart with โYoung Againโ, extending their all-time record for the most chart-topping songs in the formatโs history.
Twenty-six.
That is absolutely ridiculous.
And somehow, Shinedown are still finding new ways to make the numbers even bigger. ๐ค๐ฅ
๐ธ โYoung Againโ Keeps The Shinedown Machine Rolling
โYoung Againโ comes from the bandโs latest studio album Ei8ht, released through Atlantic Records, and it has now become another major chapter in Shinedownโs frankly bonkers rock-radio history.
The track follows โSafe And Soundโ, which previously gave the band their 25th Mediabase Active Rock Number One.
So naturally, Shinedown responded by immediately going out and getting another one.
Because apparently 25 wasnโt enough.
The band also hold the record for the most Number Ones on Billboardโs Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, where they currently sit on 23.
๐ฅ A Song About Holding Onto The Moment
โYoung Againโ carries one of those themes Shinedown have become particularly good at delivering.
Big enough to fill an arena.
Personal enough to hit you right in the chest.
The song centres around embracing the present, remembering those carefree moments from earlier life and recognising that the memories weโre making right now will eventually become the stories we look back on.
The accompanying video was directed by Andrew Donoho and leans into that same feeling of freedom, youth and making the most of the moments happening around you.
Basically:
Enjoy the chaos while itโs happening.
Because one day youโll somehow find yourself saying:
โBloody hell, that was twenty years ago.โ
Terrifying.
๐ Shinedown Arenโt Only Dominating Active Rock
The success of โYoung Againโ isnโt confined to one chart either.
The track has also been climbing the Alternative chart and was approaching the Top 20 at the time of the announcement.
That follows another impressive crossover moment for the band with โThree Six Fiveโ, which previously reached Number One at Alternative radio while also making an impact across Hot AC, AC and Top 40 formats.
That sort of crossover is becoming increasingly familiar territory for Shinedown.
They might sit comfortably in the modern rock world, but their songs have increasingly travelled far beyond it.
๐ฟ โEi8htโ Continues A Massive Year
Released earlier in 2026, Ei8ht sees Shinedown exploring themes including resilience, grief, hope and human connection.
The album was produced by bassist Eric Bass at his Big Animal Studio in Charleston, South Carolina.
And it has arrived during another enormous year for the band.
Shinedown have also:
- Performed during the grand finale of American Idol
- Headlined Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival
- Won Rock Artist Of The Year at the iHeartRadio Music Awards for the second consecutive year
- Continued their massive Dance, Kid, Dance Act II world tour
Not exactly taking it easy, are they?
๐ The World Tour Rolls On
The chart milestone arrives while Shinedown continue taking their live show around the world.
The band are heading to Australia and New Zealand in September 2026 for a co-headline run with Bush, marking Shinedownโs first performances Down Under in more than 15 years.
That run begins in Auckland on 17 September before heading through Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
Then comes Europe.
And there are some tasty dates on that schedule.
๐ฌ๐ง Shinedown Are Coming To The UK
The Dance, Kid, Dance Act II tour reaches Europe later this year, with UK and Ireland shows including:
- 16 November โ Glasgow โ OVO Hydro
- 19 November โ London โ OVO Arena Wembley
- 20 November โ Manchester โ AO Arena
- 22 November โ Dublin
And those UK dates are getting an absolutely cracking support package.
Coheed And Cambria will join Shinedown for the UK shows, while Welsh rock favourites Those Damn Crows are supporting across the entire European run.
Shinedown.
Coheed And Cambria.
Those Damn Crows.
That is not a quiet night out.
And Wales getting some representation on that bill?
You love to see it. ๐๐ค
๐ค More Than Two Decades Of Doing It Properly
Shinedown currently consists of:
Brent Smith โ Vocals
Zach Myers โ Guitar
Eric Bass โ Bass
Barry Kerch โ Drums
Across their career, the band have racked up more than 8.3 billion global streams, sold around 10 million albums worldwide, and collected numerous gold and platinum certifications along the way.
Those numbers are massive.
But the thing that really explains Shinedownโs longevity is simpler.
They know how to write songs people connect with.
Huge choruses.
Big emotion.
Proper arena-ready hooks.
And lyrics that feel personal enough for thousands of people to shout back in unison.
That combination is difficult to fake.
๐ค The Riff Report Saysโฆ
Twenty-six Number Ones.
Read that again.
Twenty-six.
There are bands who would sell a kidney for one rock-radio chart-topper.
Shinedown have now collected enough of them to fill an entire setlist.
โYoung Againโ extending their Mediabase Active Rock record is another reminder that Shinedown remain one of the most consistent major rock acts of the last two decades.
And with Ei8ht still rolling, a world tour underway and more massive shows ahead, they donโt look remotely interested in slowing down.
The Shinedown machine keeps moving.
The records keep falling.
And the rest of rock radio is probably getting very tired of seeing their name at the top.
