🧠 WHO THE HELVETE ARE OPETH?

Led by the long-haired, soft-spoken, evil-genius Mikael Åkerfeldt, Opeth started out as a death metal band that clearly read too many Victorian novels and listened to way too much Camel. 🎩📚🎶

While their peers were blasting blast beats, Opeth were composing multi-part movements with acoustic interludes, lyrics about ghosts and sorrow, and riffs that either melt faces or gently caress them.

And then – in true Opeth fashion – they completely changed sound halfway through their career and became full-on prog rock masters. And they pulled it off. Like absolute kings. 👑
