There comes a point in every gig-goer’s life when the concerts begin to blur together.

You remember the huge ones, obviously. The first time you saw your favourite band. The festival headline set that nearly rearranged your internal organs. The sweaty little club gig where the ceiling dripped and somebody launched half a pint down your back.

But after years of shows, tours, festivals, support slots and “just one more gig” purchases, keeping track of everything becomes almost impossible.

How many times have you heard your favourite song live?

Which band have you seen the most?

How many cities have you travelled to?

Was that rare track played at Download, Bloodstock or during that random Tuesday-night gig in Birmingham?

Well, butt… that problem may finally have been solved. 😎🔥

📊 Your Entire Concert History — Turned Into Stats

A website has appeared offering one of the most important features missing from the usual concert setlist experience: the ability to track every song you have personally heard performed live.

Instead of manually digging through years of setlists, faded tickets, old emails and photographs taken on phones with the image quality of a haunted potato, fans can search their gig history and begin building a personal live-music archive.

The results can include statistics such as:

  • 🎤 Total concerts attended
  • 🎶 Number of different songs heard live
  • 🌍 Cities visited
  • 🚐 Tours witnessed
  • 🏟️ Venues attended
  • 🌎 Countries travelled to
  • 🤘 How many times each song has been heard

The example shown records 13 shows, 59 songs, eight cities and four tours, transforming years of gig-going into one neat little musical scorecard.

And here is the tasty bit: you do not even need to create an account to start using it.

No registration marathon. No twelve-character password featuring a capital letter, hieroglyphics and the blood of a roadie. Just search, select and begin exploring.

🎶 Finally, We Can Answer the Important Questions

Forget tax returns. Forget household admin. Forget remembering where you left your keys.

These are the statistics that truly matter.

How many times have you heard Metallica play Master of Puppets?

How often have Iron Maiden launched into Fear of the Dark while thousands of people sang the melody back at them?

How many festival fields have you bounced around during Skindred’s Nobody?

And how many times have you screamed the lyrics to the same closing song while pretending each performance was not slowly destroying your knees?

For longtime rock and metal fans, these numbers are difficult to calculate. You might remember seeing a band ten times, but remembering every song across every one of those shows is a completely different beast.

That is where this tool becomes dangerously addictive.

🔥 Prepare to Lose Your Entire Evening

You will probably begin with one innocent search.

“Let’s see how many times I’ve seen this band,” you’ll say.

Then, three hours later, you will be surrounded by old ticket stubs, scrolling through festival line-ups and arguing with yourself over whether you attended Cardiff in 2012 or 2013.

That is the beauty of it.

Every result opens another door.

You might discover you have heard one song far more times than expected. You could uncover a rare track that only appeared during one tour. You may even realise you witnessed a live debut without knowing how special it was at the time.

Suddenly, a gig you had almost forgotten becomes part of your personal rock ’n’ roll history.

It is basically a musical rabbit hole lined with riffs, ringing ears and wildly overpriced venue lager. 🍺

🎟️ More Than Just Numbers

The statistics are brilliant, but every number represents a memory.

One show could be the first concert your parents allowed you to attend.

Another might have been the night you discovered a support band that became one of your favourites.

A particular city might remind you of a disastrous train journey, a questionable hotel and a kebab eaten at 2am while your ears continued buzzing.

A tour could represent an entire chapter of your life.

That is what makes tracking live music so special. These are not simply songs in a database. They are moments tied to friends, places, road trips, festival campsites and nights where the world felt gloriously loud.

For some fans, their concert history stretches back decades. Paper tickets have faded, venues have closed and bands have changed line-ups, but the memories remain.

Now there is an easier way to gather them together.

🌍 Discover How Far You’ve Travelled for Riffs

The location statistics could reveal just how far your music obsession has taken you.

Perhaps you have followed one band through several British cities.

Maybe you have crossed borders for a festival.

You might discover that your annual gig mileage would make a delivery driver nervous.

Music fans regularly travel ridiculous distances for a couple of hours of live noise, often returning home exhausted, skint and already looking for the next ticket.

Seeing those cities, venues and countries collected in one place turns your concert history into a touring map of your own.

The band had a tour bus.

You had rail replacement services and a Travelodge charging £240 because someone else was playing nearby.

Rock ’n’ roll, mun. 🚆🤘

🧠 Your Memory Is About to Be Tested

Of course, building your full gig history may require some detective work.

Older shows can be difficult to remember, particularly if you attended several festivals featuring dozens of artists. You may need to search old emails, social media posts, ticket accounts and photographs.

Festival weekends are especially dangerous territory.

Did you watch that entire afternoon band or only catch two songs while walking towards the bar?

Does hearing a chorus from outside the tent count?

What about the act playing while you queued for chips?

These are serious ethical questions for the gig-stat community.

Still, even an incomplete history could provide a fascinating glimpse into the music you have experienced over the years.

🤘 The Ultimate Bragging Rights

Once fans begin sharing their results, chaos is inevitable.

Someone will casually reveal they have seen Iron Maiden 47 times.

Another person will have attended shows across three continents.

One absolute machine will somehow have heard Ace of Spades more times than they have visited their own family.

The stats become digital gig-going badges of honour.

They are not about proving who is the “biggest fan”, though. Everyone’s concert journey is different. One life-changing show can mean more than a hundred average ones.

But let us be honest: discovering you witnessed a song that has barely ever been played live is still going straight on social media.

That is not boasting.

That is public service journalism. 😏

🎤 The Riff Report Verdict

This is the sort of feature live-music fans have been crying out for.

Concert databases are brilliant for checking individual setlists, but being able to combine your attended shows and calculate every song you have heard adds an entirely new level of fun.

It turns years of gigs into a personalised archive packed with statistics, memories and unexpected discoveries.

Whether you have attended 13 shows or 1,300, it offers a fascinating way to look back at the bands, songs, cities and tours that shaped your life as a music fan.

Just be warned: once you start searching, you may not stop.

You will check one band.

Then another.

Then you will remember a support slot from 2007.

Before you know it, the sun is coming up, your tea has gone cold and you are proudly announcing that you have heard the same song live 26 times.

Proper job. 🤘🔥

🎸 Which Song Have You Heard Live the Most?

Have a dig through your gig history and let us know which track has followed you around the most.

Is it a massive metal anthem, a festival favourite or a song you somehow keep hearing without ever asking for it?

Drop your results in the comments and let the stat-based riff warfare begin! 😎🎶

Proudly Welsh. Proudly Loud. Zero Apologies.

Michael

🎸 About Michael Michael is the founder, editor and chief riff wrangler of The Riff Report, an independent Welsh rock, metal and alternative music publication built by fans, for fans. A lifelong rock and metal fan, Michael has spent years immersed in the music, culture and community that surround the heavier side of life. From discovering new bands and digging through classic albums to standing in muddy festival fields, squeezing into packed venues and spending far too much time near the front of a stage, music has always been much more than background noise — it is a massive part of who he is. That passion eventually became The Riff Report, a publication created to celebrate the bands, artists, venues, festivals, photographers, promoters and fans who keep the rock and metal world turning. Michael spends much of the year covering gigs, festivals, tours, album releases, new singles, interviews and music news, with a camera never too far away and a press pass usually hanging somewhere around his neck. Whether it is a huge arena show, a major outdoor festival or a tiny grassroots venue packed with people discovering their new favourite band, he believes every part of the scene has stories worth telling. For Michael, one of the biggest joys of music journalism is being able to shine a light on artists at every level. The Riff Report is just as interested in the hungry independent band playing to 50 people as it is in the global act headlining to 50,000. Supporting unsigned, independent and grassroots musicians is a huge part of the publication’s identity, because every legendary band started somewhere. Sometimes the next big thing is not on a massive billboard or a major-label playlist — sometimes they are crammed onto a tiny stage in a pub, plugging in their own gear and hoping somebody in the room remembers their name. Michael wants The Riff Report to be one of the places that remembers.
