One of the greatest debut albums in rock history is getting the celebration it deserves. 🤘🎶
Forty-five years after changing the musical landscape, Phil Collins’ legendary first solo album, Face Value, is returning in spectacular fashion with a brand-new anniversary reissue packed with treats for collectors and lifelong fans alike.
Released in 1981, Face Value wasn’t just Phil Collins stepping out from behind the drum kit of Genesis—it was the moment he proved he was one of the finest songwriters and vocalists of his generation.
🥁 The Album That Changed Everything
Few opening tracks in music history hit quite like “In The Air Tonight.”
That haunting atmosphere, emotional vocal performance and that drum fill have become the stuff of legend, inspiring countless musicians and remaining one of the most recognisable songs ever recorded.
But Face Value is far more than a one-song album.
The record showcased Collins’ remarkable ability to blend heartfelt ballads, soulful grooves, jazz influences and pop craftsmanship into an album that still sounds fresh more than four decades later.
Standout tracks include:
- 🎵 In The Air Tonight
- 🎵 I Missed Again
- 🎵 If Leaving Me Is Easy
- 🎵 Behind The Lines
- 🎵 Thunder and Lightning
The album went on to become a worldwide success, cementing Phil Collins as a superstar in his own right while launching one of the biggest solo careers of the 1980s.
