Lewis Capaldi Fans Face Chaos, Carnage & Crash Screens 🎤💥
(Spoiler: Ticketmaster lost. Again.)
Oh, Ticketmaster… you absolute gobsh*te.
At exactly 9:00am, the Lewis Capaldi fandom — caffeinated, click-ready and armed with dreams of weeping through “Before You Go” — descended upon your cursed site. What followed was less ‘romantic ballad’, more WWE Royal Rumble meets IT meltdown. 💻🧨
🕘 9:00am – The Calm Before the Sh*tstorm
“Just stay calm,” said fans across the UK and Ireland, clutching phones, laptops and tablets like war drums.
“Queue opens soon.”
“Should be fine.”
…
IT WAS NOT FINE.
🧨 9:00:02 – ABSOLUTE CARNAGE
Seconds. It took SECONDS. Like a magician’s trick, the entire first run of tickets vanished quicker than you can say “Bruises.”
Fans were met with:
- ❌ “There are no tickets available in your selected area.” (…But it’s 9:01???)
- 🔁 Error loops that sent you back to the queue like a cursed NPC
- 😭 Tickets in the basket vanishing mid-payment, like your will to live
💬 Twitter/X Was a Warzone
The memes were brutal. The sarcasm? Spicy. The rage? Chef’s kiss.
“That was the most stressful 3 minutes of my life and I’ve watched Hereditary on a loop.”
“Got to checkout, clicked pay, site crashed. I AM TAMPING, MUN.”
“Ticketmaster is less ‘ticket master’ and more ‘chaotic bin fire with wi-fi.’”
Honestly, the Ticketmaster servers were more overwhelmed than your nan at Download Festival.
🎤 Lewis Capaldi To The Rescue (Kinda)
To his credit, King of Sad Bangers™ Lewis Capaldi acted fast and added SEVEN extra shows.
Because apparently selling out in 0.4 seconds means, y’know, people might want more. Who knew?
But even those extra shows sparked another round of trauma, as fans braced for Ticketmaster’s next round of digital slapstick.
🤖 Resale Bots & Greedy Algorithms
Let’s talk about the real villain in this ballad: bots & dynamic pricing.
Some fans noticed tickets reappearing moments later for triple the price. Some resale listings went up before the official sale even started.
Come on now. That’s like your ex RSVPing to your wedding before you’ve proposed.
Shady. As. Hell.
🧠 Solutions? Pfft, This Is Ticketmaster
Fans cried out for:
- Verified fan presales (that work)
- Queues that don’t collapse like wet cardboard
- Bots being banned (again)
- Prices that don’t skyrocket like Glasto tipis with a jacuzzi
But will Ticketmaster listen? Not unless Capaldi himself performs an exorcism on their website.
🎉 If You Got Tickets…
Congratulations, you glorious goblin. You’ve defeated the odds.
You survived the Capaldi Clickathon of Doom™ and earned the right to sob publicly at his ballads.
Treat yourself to a pint, a victory playlist, and a tattoo that says:
“I fought Ticketmaster and all I got was this overpriced seat in Block Z.” 🍻
😔 If You Didn’t…
Don’t panic. More dates might come. Or… we all just meet in a field, bring Bluetooth speakers and sob together while someone’s nan sings “Someone You Loved” into a karaoke mic. Honestly, sounds lush.
📢 Riff Report Verdict:
Ticketmaster, you need to sit down. Think about your life. Think about your choices.
You’ve made grown adults cry before 9:10am. In public. In Crocs.
Leave your war stories in the comments:
🔥 Did you cry?
🔥 Did you scream at your laptop?
🔥 Did you accidentally book a ticket for Capaldi in Cork instead of Cardiff?
We want it all. Chaos. Carnage. Capaldi.

Michael is the founder, editor, and chief riff wrangler behind The Riff Report, an independent Welsh rock and metal publication built by fans, for fans. With a lifelong passion for loud guitars, unforgettable live shows, and the incredible community that surrounds rock and metal, he created The Riff Report to celebrate everything that makes the scene special—from legendary headline acts and grassroots venues to rising bands that deserve to be heard.
A familiar face at festivals across the UK, Michael spends much of the year covering events including Download Festival, Bloodstock Open Air, Steelhouse Festival, Firevolt, Plumpton Revival, and many more. Whether he’s battling the Welsh weather on a mountainside, surviving a weekend in a muddy campsite, or squeezed against the front barrier with thousands of fellow fans, he’s always searching for the next great story to share.
As editor of The Riff Report, Michael writes festival guides, breaking news, album reviews, gig reviews, interviews, opinion pieces, nostalgia features, and behind-the-scenes stories from across the rock and metal world. His writing combines honest opinions, humour, and a genuine love for live music, bringing readers closer to the bands, festivals, venues, and people that keep the scene alive.
Michael is particularly passionate about supporting independent artists, local venues, charities, and the wider UK rock and metal community. He believes every band deserves a chance to be discovered and every festival has a story worth telling. Through The Riff Report, he aims to shine a spotlight on both the biggest names in rock and the future stars waiting to break through.
When he’s not writing or interviewing artists, you’ll probably find him exploring festival campsites, photographing live shows, chatting with fellow fans over a pint, or planning the next road trip in search of more riffs, bigger crowds, and unforgettable moments.
Above all, Michael believes rock and metal are about more than music—they’re about community, friendship, and creating memories that last a lifetime. That’s exactly what The Riff Report exists to celebrate.
Proudly Welsh. Proudly Loud. Always chasing the next great riff. 🤘
