Friday โ€“ Main Stage โ€“ 6:40pm

As Friday evening rolled on and the Steelhouse crowd continued to swell, it was time for one of the UKโ€™s fastest-rising rock bands to take centre stage. Mason Hill arrived at 6:40pm on the Main Stage, and from the moment they walked out, it was clear they had no intention of simply filling a slot on the bill.

They came to make a statement.

And what a statement it was.

With a glorious blend of soaring melodies, razor-sharp riffs and arena-sized choruses, the Glasgow rockers delivered a performance that perfectly captured everything Steelhouse Festival is about โ€” big songs, brilliant musicianship and thousands of rock fans losing themselves in the moment beneath the Welsh sky.

๐ŸŽค Tom Ward Was Absolutely Incredible

If there was one person who truly stole the show, it was lead singer Tom Ward.

From the second he stepped onto the Steelhouse stage, he had the crowd completely captivated. His voice was simply phenomenal โ€” powerful, effortless and packed with emotion.

Whether he was belting out the bandโ€™s huge anthems or pulling things back for the more melodic moments, every note was delivered with precision, passion and pure rock โ€™nโ€™ roll confidence.

He made the difficult look easy.

His vocals soared across the mountain, filling the arena with the kind of power that made people stop mid-conversation, turn towards the stage and pay attention.

Tom Ward stage presence was equally impressive. Constantly engaging with the crowd, encouraging singalongs and feeding off the atmosphere, he made the audience feel like part of the show rather than simply watching it.

By the end of the set, there was no doubt Steelhouse had witnessed one of the standout vocal performances of the entire weekend.

๐ŸŽธ Riffs Built for Festival Stages

Mason Hill have always understood the importance of writing songs that are both heavy and incredibly catchy, and Fridayโ€™s set was packed with them.

Crunching rhythm guitars drove every track forward, while soaring lead guitar work added layers of melody that lifted each song to another level.

The twin-guitar attack was one of the highlights of the performance, delivering tight harmonies, blistering solos and riffs that had air guitars appearing all over the arena.

There wasnโ€™t a weak moment.

Everything sounded polished, powerful and absolutely massive.

๐Ÿฅ A Rhythm Section That Never Missed a Beat

Behind the guitars, the rhythm section was relentless.

The bass rumbled through the valley with real authority, while the drums hit with thunderous precision, giving every song the drive it needed.

The entire band played as one unit, feeding off each otherโ€™s energy and clearly enjoying every second on stage.

That chemistry made a huge difference.

Nothing felt forced.

It simply felt natural.

๐Ÿค˜ Friday Night Energy Arrives

By 6:40pm, Steelhouse had shifted into another gear.

The bars were buzzing.

The hillside was packed.

Festival shirts, battle jackets and inflatable guitars filled the crowd as more and more people gathered in front of the Main Stage.

Mason Hill responded by turning up the intensity.

Every chorus was louder than the last.

Every riff landed harder.

The audience sang along wherever they could, clapped in unison and threw their horns skyward as the band powered through a set that barely paused for breath.

It felt less like an early evening slot and more like a band ready to headline festivals in the future.

๐ŸŒ„ Built for Steelhouse

Some bands suit clubs.

Some belong in arenas.

Mason Hill feel like they were made for festivals.

Their songs are packed with enormous hooks that carry beautifully across open-air stages, while their confidence and stagecraft ensured there wasnโ€™t a dull second throughout the performance.

Against the stunning backdrop of the Welsh mountain, their polished modern rock sound felt absolutely at home.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Future Headliners?

Watching Mason Hill at Steelhouse, it was hard not to wonder how long it will be before theyโ€™re sitting much higher up festival posters.

They have the songs.

They have the musicianship.

They have the stage presence.

And in Tom Ward, they have a singer capable of lifting the entire performance into another league.

Most importantly, they know exactly how to connect with an audience.

Every member looked like they genuinely loved being there, and that enthusiasm spread through the crowd from the opening riff to the final applause.

๐ŸŽช One of Fridayโ€™s Biggest Crowd-Pleasers

When the final song came to an end, the roar from the Steelhouse faithful said everything.

This wasnโ€™t just polite applause.

It was genuine appreciation for a band that had given absolutely everything.

As fans drifted away towards the bars and prepared for the eveningโ€™s later acts, conversations about Mason Hill could be heard all around the arena.

Thatโ€™s always a sign youโ€™ve done something right.

๐Ÿป The Riff Report Verdict

Mason Hill delivered one of Fridayโ€™s most complete performances, combining huge melodies, thunderous riffs and first-class musicianship into a set that never lost momentum.

Tom Ward outstanding vocal performance elevated an already brilliant show into something genuinely unforgettable. His voice was powerful, emotional and absolutely made for a festival stage, while the rest of the band matched him with monster riffs, relentless energy and arena-ready confidence.

Steelhouse loves discovering the next generation of rock stars.

Judging by this performance, Mason Hill are well on their way.
