One day. One stage. One monster rock show. And now… one completely SOLD OUT arena.

Stonedead Festival has delivered a massive statement ahead of its return in 2027, confirming that its arena allocation has officially SOLD OUT for next year’s festival at Newark Showground on Saturday 28th August 2027. 🎸💀

Yep. SOLD. BLOODY. OUT.

If you managed to grab your ticket, congratulations, butt – you’re heading back to Newark for another glorious day of riffs, denim, beer, booming amplifiers and thousands of rock fans having the time of their lives.

If you were thinking, “Ah, I’ll sort my ticket later…”

Well…

That plan has gone about as successfully as wearing brand-new white trainers to Download Festival. 😂

🎟️ STONEDEAD 2027 – THE ARENA IS FULL!

Stonedead broke the news with a massive SOLD OUT plastered across its 2027 artwork – and it’s another huge achievement for one of Britain’s most beloved independent rock festivals.

The event will return to Newark Showground on Saturday 28th August 2027, once again flying the flag for its brilliantly straightforward philosophy:

ONE DAY. ONE STAGE. ONE MONSTER ROCK SHOW. 🤘

And that’s a massive part of why Stonedead has become such a favourite with rock fans.

There’s no running between seven stages.

No heartbreaking clashes.

No discovering the band you desperately wanted to see finished 20 minutes ago because you were queueing for chips on the opposite side of the festival.

You turn up.

You find your mates.

You grab something cold.

You plant yourself in front of the stage.

And then you spend the rest of the day being repeatedly slapped around the chops by massive riffs.

Simple. Beautiful. Tidy. 🍺🎸

💀 STONEDEAD HAS BECOME A PROPER ROCK ‘N’ ROLL PILGRIMAGE

There’s something wonderfully old-school about Stonedead.

Its one-stage format carries the spirit of those legendary all-day rock gatherings where the focus wasn’t on endless attractions or trying to turn the festival site into some enormous theme park.

It was about the bands.

It was about the fans.

And it was about standing in a field with thousands of like-minded lunatics while somebody onstage turns a Marshall stack up to eleven.

That’s the good stuff. 🤘

Over the years, Stonedead has built a fiercely loyal community around that philosophy.

For many fans, the annual trip to Newark isn’t simply another gig anymore.

It’s part of the rock calendar.

You see familiar faces.

You meet people you’ve spoken to online all year.

You discover bands you’ve never seen before.

You spend considerably more money on food than you planned.

Someone loses their sunglasses.

Someone else starts talking to you about their favourite Deep Purple album in the toilet queue.

And somehow, by the end of the day, everybody feels like they’ve known each other for years.

That’s festival life, mun. 😂🍺

🔥 SELLING OUT IS A MASSIVE WIN FOR INDEPENDENT ROCK

This isn’t just good news for Stonedead.

It’s good news for the wider UK rock scene.

Running an independent festival in Britain isn’t exactly a relaxing weekend hobby.

Production costs, infrastructure, security, staffing, equipment, insurance and countless other expenses mean putting on an outdoor music festival has become an increasingly difficult business.

And we’ve sadly watched numerous festivals struggle or disappear altogether in recent years.

That’s why seeing thousands of rock fans throwing their support behind an independently organised event like Stonedead deserves a proper round of applause.

👏👏👏

Fans haven’t simply bought tickets for a day out.

They’ve backed the festival.

They’ve backed the organisers.

They’ve backed live rock music.

And they’ve effectively said:

“YES. WE WANT MORE OF THIS.”

That’s bloody brilliant.

🎸 THE STONEDEAD FORMULA CLEARLY WORKS

Sometimes bigger isn’t necessarily better.

Stonedead understands exactly what it wants to be.

There’s a stage.

There are rock bands.

There’s an enormous crowd.

And everybody is there for exactly the same reason.

THE MUSIC.

That one-stage format creates something special because every artist essentially gets the whole festival audience.

There’s no competing with another band hammering away on a different stage somewhere across the site.

When someone walks onto the Stonedead stage, Newark is watching.

For newer or rising bands, that can be absolutely enormous.

One killer afternoon performance can turn thousands of curious festival-goers into new fans.

We’ve seen it happen countless times at festivals.

You wander towards the stage thinking:

“I’ll give these lot ten minutes.”

Forty-five minutes later you’re standing there thinking:

“WHERE HAVE THIS BAND BEEN ALL MY LIFE?!”

By Monday morning you’ve bought the album, followed them everywhere and you’re explaining to your partner why you’ve just ordered a £30 T-shirt.

Rock ‘n’ roll economics. 😂🤘

👀 SO… WHO’S PLAYING STONEDEAD 2027?

And now comes the really exciting bit.

The speculation.

Once you’ve got thousands of rock fans together, there’s only one thing they’re going to start doing:

Guessing the bloody line-up.

😂

Who’s headlining?

Who’s getting the big evening slots?

Which classic rock favourite could make an appearance?

Which rising British band could be given its opportunity to absolutely demolish Newark?

And which band will deliver that performance everyone is still talking about on the drive home?

That’s half the fun of festival season.

The rumours.

The predictions.

The completely ridiculous suggestions somebody’s mate apparently heard from somebody whose cousin once delivered a pizza to the drummer.

Festival rumour season never disappoints. 😂

🤘 STONEDEAD 2027 – WHAT WE KNOW

📅 Saturday 28th August 2027

📍 Newark Showground

🎸 One Day

🔥 One Stage

💀 One Monster Rock Show

🎟️ Arena – SOLD OUT

The important bit is that thousands of rock fans already know exactly where they’ll be spending the August Bank Holiday weekend.

Newark.

🍺 IF YOU’VE GOT A TICKET… YOU’RE IN!

There is always a glorious little moment after a festival sells out when everyone who bought early suddenly develops the smugness of someone holding the last sausage roll in Greggs.

You know who you are.

😂

Ticket secured.

Accommodation sorted.

Festival mates informed.

Countdown underway.

All that’s left is figuring out who’s driving and pretending that you’ll definitely pack everything the night before rather than throwing clothes into a bag at 6am.

For everyone heading to Stonedead 2027, the countdown has officially begun.

❤️ STONEDEAD IS ABOUT MORE THAN THE BANDS

What makes festivals survive isn’t simply booking big names.

It’s community.

And Stonedead has built one.

That matters.

Rock and metal festivals are places where friendships are formed, bands find new audiences and fans who might only see each other once a year get their annual reunion.

For one day, Newark Showground becomes its own little rock ‘n’ roll village.

Leather jackets.

Battle vests.

Band shirts.

Inflatable nonsense.

Pints.

Riffs.

Big choruses.

Air guitars.

And several thousand people simultaneously discovering that standing up for twelve hours hurts considerably more than it did twenty years ago.

The knees aren’t metal anymore, mun. 😂🤘

But we’ll still bloody do it.

Because that’s what we do.

🐉 THE RIFF REPORT LOVES SEEING INDEPENDENT FESTIVALS WIN

Here at The Riff Report, we’ll always have plenty of love for festivals keeping Britain’s rock scene alive.

Especially the independent ones.

These events give bands stages.

They give photographers opportunities.

They give independent media stories.

They give traders business.

And most importantly, they give rock fans somewhere to belong.

Seeing STONEDEAD 2027 – SOLD OUT written across that poster is therefore something worth celebrating.

Because behind those two words are thousands of people saying they still want loud guitars.

They still want live bands.

They still want festivals.

And they still want to stand in a field shouting themselves hoarse while somebody absolutely murders a guitar solo.

Long may that continue. 🤘❤️

🔥 NEWARK… WE’LL SEE YOU IN 2027!

The arena is sold out.

The date is locked in.

Newark Showground awaits.

Now all eyes turn towards what Stonedead has planned for the stage.

Whoever eventually steps out underneath those lights is going to find a packed arena of rock fans waiting for them.

And you can guarantee they’ll be loud.

Very loud.

So start digging out the battle vest.

Give your neck muscles some preliminary training.

Warn the neighbours.

And prepare yourself for another enormous August Bank Holiday celebration of all things rock.

STONEDEAD FESTIVAL 2027.

ONE DAY. ONE STAGE. ONE MONSTER ROCK SHOW.

AND ONE VERY SOLD-OUT ARENA. 🤘🔥💀

See you down the front, butt.
