For a relatively small country, Wales punches ridiculously above its weight when it comes to live music. We’ve got festivals perched on mountains, festivals hidden inside forests, festivals beside the sea and enormous musical gatherings taking over entire towns.
And that’s before somebody inevitably starts singing Delilah.
Whether you’re looking for face-melting classic rock, indie discoveries, folk sessions, electronic madness or a chilled weekend surrounded by nature, Cymru has something waiting.

🏔️🎸 Steelhouse Festival
📅 Dates: 24–26 July 2026
📍 Location: Hafod-y-Dafal Farm, near Ebbw Vale, South Wales

If there is one Welsh festival that perfectly represents The Riff Report, it’s Steelhouse.
Quite literally.
High above the South Wales valleys sits one of Britain’s most unique rock festivals.
Steelhouse isn’t held in some boring city park.
Oh no.
It’s on top of a bloody mountain.
And every July thousands of rock fans make the pilgrimage upwards for three days of guitars, beer, friendship and weather that can change approximately seventeen times before you’ve finished breakfast.

Few festivals anywhere in Britain can compete with Green Man when it comes to scenery.
Set against the spectacular mountains of Bannau Brycheiniog, Green Man has become one of Britain’s most respected independent festivals.
Approximately 25,000 people descend on the Glanusk Estate each year for a weekend combining music, art, literature, comedy, science, food and plenty of wonderfully weird festival adventures.
The 2026 line-up includes names such as:

In It Together has rapidly become one of the major players on the Welsh festival calendar.
Rather than focusing on a single genre, the festival throws everything into one enormous musical melting pot.
Across multiple arenas you’ll find major live artists, dance acts, DJs, emerging Welsh talent, family entertainment and enough variety to keep pretty much everyone entertained.
One of its strongest features is its commitment to Welsh talent.

Deep in the Welsh countryside you’ll find something very different from the enormous commercial festival experience.
Fire in the Mountain grew from a gathering of friends who shared a love of traditional music, folk, bluegrass and community.
And that spirit remains at its heart.
This isn’t about enormous LED screens and corporate hospitality villages.
It’s about music around fires, musicians sharing songs, dancing, camping and disappearing into the Welsh countryside for a few days.
Basically, imagine somebody discovered a magical Welsh valley and filled it with banjos.

The focus is heavily geared towards original and breakthrough artists rather than simply throwing enormous established names onto a poster.
That means discovery.
And we LOVE discovery.
There is something genuinely special about watching a band on a tiny festival stage before everyone else catches on.
Six months later you’re telling your mates:
“I saw them when there were about 40 people watching, butt.”

Between the Trees takes the traditional festival formula and plonks it inside one of South Wales’ beautiful woodland environments.
The organisers describe it perfectly:
A micro festival in a big woodland.
Music combines with art, nature and science to create something far removed from the giant festival experience.
Expect acoustic performances, emerging artists, talks, woodland walks, workshops and plenty of opportunities to simply disappear beneath the trees for a while.
It’s relaxed.
It’s intimate.
It’s extremely Welsh.
And you don’t need to walk four miles back to your tent after the headliner.
