Get ready for another lightning-charged weekend of riffs because Firevolt Rock Festival returns to Whitebottom Farm from Friday 13 to Sunday 15 August 2027, with the festival’s traditional pre-party kicking things off a day earlier on Thursday 12 August.

Set among the beautiful surroundings of Etherow Country Park near Stockport, Firevolt has rapidly become one of the most talked-about independent rock festivals on the UK circuit.

It isn’t trying to become another enormous corporate festival.

It isn’t attempting to squeeze tens of thousands of people into a giant field.

Instead, Firevolt has built its reputation around something considerably more important:

Great bands.

A friendly crowd.

Grassroots rock music.

And a festival community that actually feels like a community.

Add camping, two stages, proper facilities and three days of face-melting rock and you’ve got a cracking August weekend waiting in Greater Manchester.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Three Days, Two Stages, One Hell Of A Rock Festival

Firevolt’s own description pretty much sums things up:

Three days. Two stages. One hell of an explosion of face-melting rock.

That’s the core of the festival.

Firevolt keeps the setup comparatively compact, allowing fans to concentrate on watching bands rather than spending half the weekend trekking between opposite ends of an enormous festival site.

The festival has traditionally operated its two stages so audiences can catch as much music as possible without spending the entire weekend battling horrible clashes.

And that makes a massive difference.

At some festivals, planning the day feels like attempting a military operation.

At Firevolt?

Grab a drink.

Watch a band.

Move to the next stage.

Repeat.

Much more civilised.

Well…

As civilised as several days of loud guitars in a field can reasonably be.

๐ŸŽค Firevolt Rock Festival 2027 Line-Up

The 2027 line-up has not yet been officially announced.

So right now, the poster is still waiting for names.

But that’s part of the excitement.

Firevolt has developed a reputation for mixing established touring artists with some of the strongest bands moving through Britain’s grassroots rock scene.

Previous editions have included everything from hard rock and blues-infused rock โ€™nโ€™ roll to heavier modern bands, melodic acts and artists gradually making the climb towards much larger stages.

The festival also places a lot of importance on how bands perform live.

Which seems obvious.

But it’s worth saying.

Firevolt is built around live music.

Not algorithms.

Not follower counts alone.

Not whatever 15-second clip happens to be trending this week.

Bands need to bring it on stage.

And that’s exactly what a rock festival should be about.

๐Ÿ”ฅ The Riff Report will update this entry as soon as the first Firevolt Rock Festival 2027 bands are officially announced.

๐ŸŒฑ Supporting The Grassroots

Grassroots music sits right at the heart of Firevolt.

The festival’s organisers are passionate about keeping the rock, blues and metal scene alive by giving artists meaningful opportunities and supporting musicians working their way through the independent circuit.

Firevolt has even developed its own grassroots funding initiative, designed to raise money that can be distributed to developing bands and artists.

That’s brilliant.

Because the future of rock music isn’t created exclusively inside arenas.

It’s built in:

๐ŸŽธ Small venues

๐Ÿบ Independent pubs

๐Ÿ”ฅ Grassroots festivals

๐ŸŽค Support slots

๐Ÿš Vans travelling thousands of miles

๐Ÿ‘• Merch tables

๐Ÿ“ป Independent radio

๐Ÿ“ธ Small music publications

And sweaty rooms full of people prepared to give an unfamiliar band a chance.

Without that ecosystem, there are no future festival headliners.

Simple as that.

โšก From New Festival To Firm Favourite

Firevolt is still relatively young compared with many long-running British rock festivals.

The event launched in 2022, but it didn’t take long for a loyal community to form around it.

Year after year, returning festival-goers have helped build the event into something much bigger than simply a collection of bands playing over one weekend.

That community spirit has become one of Firevolt’s defining characteristics.

You’ll see familiar faces.

You’ll meet people around the campsite.

You’ll bump into artists.

You’ll recognise somebody you were standing beside during a band the previous afternoon.

By Sunday evening, you’ll probably know considerably more people than you did when you arrived.

That’s one of the things smaller festivals do better than almost anything else.

At enormous events, it’s easy to disappear into a crowd of tens of thousands.

At Firevolt?

You become part of the weekend.

๐Ÿž๏ธ Whitebottom Farm & Etherow Country Park

Location plays a huge part in Firevolt’s identity.

The festival takes place at Whitebottom Farm, surrounded by the greenery of Etherow Country Park in Compstall.

It’s a cracking setting.

Countryside.

Trees.

Water.

Camping.

Rock bands.

Beer.

What more do you need?

The rural site provides the space required for camping and festival facilities while retaining the intimate atmosphere that makes Firevolt appealing.

Just remember one important thing:

There are deep-water hazards around the site, so children need to remain properly supervised.

Rock festivals are exciting.

Unexpected swimming lessons?

Less so.

๐Ÿบ Thursday Pre-Festival Party

Want to stretch Firevolt into an even longer weekend?

Of course you do.

The festival officially starts with the main three days on Friday, but long-weekend ticket holders can arrive from Thursday 12 August for the pre-festival party.

Thursday has become a brilliant way to settle into the site before the full weekend properly kicks off.

Pitch the tent.

Meet the neighbours.

Find the bar.

Work out where everything is.

Then begin making questionable decisions several hours earlier than everyone arriving on Friday.

Perfect.

The Thursday party is included with the Long Weekend Ticket, while standard weekend tickets begin from Friday.

Payment-plan options are also available, which can make spreading the cost across several months considerably easier.

๐ŸŽซ Firevolt Day Tickets

๐Ÿ”ฅ Friday

Adult: ยฃ60 face value

๐Ÿค˜ Saturday

So if you’re planning on crawling back to a tent after the final band?

Trust us.

โ›บ Camping At Firevolt

Camping is available for both standard weekend and long-weekend ticket holders, but it must be booked separately from the arena ticket.

โ›บ Weekend Camping

Friday entry.

ยฃ27 face value per person

โ›บ Long Weekend Camping

Thursday entry.

ยฃ30 face value per person

Festival-goers can remain on site until 3:00pm on Monday 16 August, giving everybody enough time to pack everything away and attempt to remember how the tent fitted back into that impossibly small bag.

Spoiler:

It won’t.

It never does.

โœจ Glamping

Prefer a festival experience involving considerably less wrestling with tent poles?

Glamping is available.

Pre-pitched accommodation options give festival-goers another way to stay on site without bringing the entire contents of Go Outdoors with them.

Perfect for anyone who loves festivals but has reached the stage of life where sleeping directly on uneven ground has lost some of its romance.

No judgement here.

A proper mattress starts looking increasingly attractive after thirty.

๐Ÿš Live-In Vehicles

Firevolt also accommodates campervans and other live-in vehicles.

However, on-site live-in vehicle spaces for 2027 are already sold out.

That’s how quickly some Firevolt accommodation options disappear.

Off-site live-in vehicle arrangements are also available, so anyone hoping to attend with a campervan or motorhome should check the festival’s latest information before making plans.

The approach into Whitebottom Farm is narrow and winding through the country park, meaning very large vehicles can create difficulties.

Basically:

This is not the moment to arrive driving something roughly the size of Iron Maiden’s tour bus.

๐Ÿš— Firevolt Parking

Parking is booked separately.

Current options include:

๐Ÿš— Weekend Parking โ€“ ยฃ25 face value

โšก Long Weekend Parking โ€“ ยฃ27 face value

๐ŸŽซ Individual Day Parking โ€“ ยฃ18 face value

The off-site parking area is located close to the festival, with a shuttle bus included to transport festival-goers and their gear to the entrance.

The shuttle journey takes only a few minutes.

Alternatively, the walk is roughly twenty minutes.

If you’re carrying a tent, camping chair, sleeping bag, several bags and enough festival supplies to survive the apocalypse?

Take the bus.

Your shoulders will thank you.

๐Ÿš† Getting To Firevolt

Firevolt takes place at:

Whitebottom Farm
Etherow Country Park
Compstall
Stockport
Greater Manchester
SK6 5JE

The festival strongly recommends following its official driving directions when approaching the site because some alternative routes can send vehicles down extremely narrow local roads.

If walking, Compstall Post Office provides a useful starting point, with the festival entrance roughly twenty minutes away on foot.

Anyone driving to the general off-site parking area should follow the dedicated parking instructions rather than attempting to drive directly onto the festival site.

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘ง Firevolt Is An All-Ages Festival

Firevolt is an all-ages event.

Anyone under 18 must remain accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over.

Discounted tickets are available for children aged 14 and under, while children aged one to five can attend free.

That makes Firevolt a genuinely family-friendly way to introduce younger fans to the festival experience.

Smaller crowd.

Friendly atmosphere.

Camping.

Plenty of bands.

And enough rock โ€™nโ€™ roll to make sure they’re thoroughly corrupted before returning to school.

Excellent parenting.

๐Ÿ‘‚ Protect The Young Rockers

One serious point.

Get proper hearing protection.

For children, that means suitable child-specific hearing defenders.

For adults, filtered concert earplugs are well worth investing in.

Three days of live rock through festival PA systems is a lot of noise exposure.

The objective is to leave Firevolt saying:

โ€œBloody hell, what a weekend.โ€

Not:

โ€œWHAT?โ€

Look after the lugholes.

โ™ฟ Accessibility

Firevolt offers support for festival-goers with accessibility requirements.

Eligible guests can apply for carer tickets, while limited Blue Badge parking and accessible camping arrangements are also available.

Anyone needing these facilities should contact the festival before purchasing tickets, as space is limited and approval arrangements need to be completed in advance.

The site also includes permanent accessible toilets alongside its wider facilities.

๐Ÿšฟ Proper Toilets & Showers

Festival luxury alert.

Firevolt has permanent toilet and shower blocks.

Yes.

Proper facilities.

The toilet blocks include flushing toilets, while shower facilities operate each morning.

There are also electrical sockets available in the shower changing areas for charging devices.

Anybody who’s attended enough festivals will understand why we’ve dedicated an entire section to this.

Flushing toilets.

Showers.

Electricity.

Five-star behaviour.

๐Ÿ” Food & Drink

Firevolt hosts a range of food vendors across the weekend.

Previous offerings have included festival favourites such as:

๐Ÿ” Burgers

๐Ÿ• Pizza

๐ŸŒฎ Nachos

๐Ÿฅ” Loaded Yorkshire puddings

alongside other rotating traders.

Most vendors accept both card and cash.

The festival also operates a fully stocked bar, with drinks purchased using a token system.

And because no festival diet has ever successfully followed normal nutritional guidelines:

Eat something.

Drink water.

Then return to the bar.

Balance.

๐Ÿ‘• Independent Traders

Alongside the music and food, Firevolt hosts retail traders selling everything from clothing and merchandise to artwork and other rock-related goodies.

In other words:

Bring merch money.

You are going to say:

โ€œI’m not buying much this weekend.โ€

This will be a lie.

Accept it now.

๐ŸŽธ Watch The Bands You Donโ€™t Know

Standard Riff Report festival advice applies.

Turn up early.

Don’t spend an entire weekend sitting at the tent until the handful of bands you recognise start playing.

That’s missing half the point.

Firevolt’s smaller scale and grassroots focus make it exactly the sort of festival where an unfamiliar band can become one of your highlights.

Watch them.

Give them twenty minutes.

Worst-case scenario?

Not your thing.

Best-case scenario?

New favourite band.

New shirt.

Another gig added to the calendar.

That’s how the grassroots circuit grows.

โšก Voltairre โ€“ Firevoltโ€™s Mysterious Mascot

Firevolt even has its own character and mascot:

Voltairre.

Created by festival founders Stret and Bev, Voltairre became part of the festival’s distinctive visual identity, complete with her own fictional mythology inspired loosely by rock โ€™nโ€™ roll legend and the infamous โ€œ27 Clubโ€.

She’s become another recognisable part of Firevolt’s branding and personality.

Because apparently simply organising an entire rock festival wasn’t enough.

They needed lore too.

We respect the commitment.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Why Firevolt Belongs On The Festival Calendar

Firevolt represents exactly why Britain’s independent festival scene is so important.

It’s manageable.

It’s community driven.

It’s focused on live music.

It supports grassroots artists.

And it provides a stage where established bands and developing talent can share the same weekend.

You don’t need 100,000 people to create a brilliant rock festival.

Sometimes you need:

A farm.

Two stages.

A few thousand rock fans.

A decent bar.

A campsite.

And several days of bands playing very loudly.

That’s Firevolt.

So get 12โ€“15 August 2027 into the diary if you’re doing the full long weekend.

Start assembling the festival crew.

Sort the tent.

Keep watching those line-up announcements.

And prepare yourself for another explosion of face-melting rock in the Greater Manchester countryside.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Rock โ€™nโ€™ roll.

โšก Two stages.

๐ŸŽธ Grassroots bands.

โ›บ Festival camping.

๐Ÿบ Four-day party potential.

๐Ÿค˜ One brilliant independent rock community.
