It’s with heavy hearts (and heavier riffs) that we share the sad news that Rasmus “Hække” Henriksen, former guitarist of Danish death metal giants Illdisposed, has passed away at just 47 years old. 💔

Henriksen, who shredded with Illdisposed from 2019 to 2023, brought monstrous energy, melodic brutality, and a wicked sense of humour to the stage. Fans knew him as a down-to-earth legend who could crush a riff one moment and crack a joke the next. 🤘

The band confirmed the heartbreaking news on Monday, October 27, just a day after his passing:

Rasmus ‘Hække’ Henriksen [26.09.78 – 26.10.25]. Forever in our hearts. You left us way too soon. Your kindness, endless positivity and heavy riffs will be missed. Fly free dear friend and let your energy remain in all of us. We love you. So long. Our deepest condolences to the family, friends and your dear wife Rolle.

That message floored fans across the metal world — and rightly so. Henriksen’s legacy in the scene was more than just his fretboard fury. He was known for his positivity, passion, and pure love of metal, both on and off stage.

From his time in the underground to playing festivals and tours across Europe, Hække brought everything he had to every performance — and left fans sweaty, smiling, and a bit deaf (just how we like it 😅).

The tributes have poured in, with fans and fellow musicians remembering his energy, his generosity, and his love for the music that united them all.

Rasmus “Hække” Henriksen, you’ve left the stage far too soon, but your riffs will echo through the amps forever.
Raise a pint, crank the volume, and send those horns high, butt. 🍻🤘

Rest in Power, brother.
