Sunday โ€“ Main Stage โ€“ 2:15pm

Steelhouse Festival has always been about far more than bands, beer and enormous riffs rolling across a Welsh mountain.

It is about family.

It is about community.

It is about the people who help turn a field on Hafod-y-Dafal Farm into one of the most special rock festivals in the country.

On Sunday afternoon at 2:15pm, Steelhouse Festival 2026 delivered one of the most emotional, powerful and downright chaotic moments of the entire weekend as the mystery surrounding the festivalโ€™s secret set was finally revealed.

The band stepping onto the Main Stage were none other than Welsh rock heroes Florence Black.

But this was not simply a surprise appearance.

This was a special performance dedicated to the memory of Phill.

What followed was a set packed with emotion, huge riffs, roaring singalongs, crowd surfers and circle pits.

There were tears.

There were smiles.

There were horns held high in the air.

And there was enough beautiful rock โ€™nโ€™ roll chaos to shake the entire mountain.

๐Ÿ–ค A Tribute from the Heart

As Florence Black walked onto the stage, excitement erupted across the arena.

The secret was finally out.

Yet beneath the cheers, there was a real sense of emotion surrounding the occasion.

When the band explained that the performance was dedicated to Phill, the Steelhouse crowd responded with heartfelt applause.

Glasses were raised.

Friends put their arms around one another.

Thousands of people stood together in remembrance.

For a few moments, the atmosphere felt incredibly personal.

Then Florence Black plugged in, turned everything up and honoured Phill in the most fitting way possible.

With thunderous live music.

๐ŸŽค Tristan Thomas Was Absolutely Outstanding

At the centre of the performance was Tristan Thomas, who delivered a vocal performance full of power, grit and genuine emotion.

His voice sounded enormous across the mountain.

Every chorus carried weight.

Every scream cut through the air.

Every quieter moment felt heartfelt and sincere.

Tristan managed to balance the emotion of the tribute with the explosive energy expected from a Florence Black performance.

He spoke to the audience with warmth and respect, but once the songs kicked in, he transformed into an absolute force of nature.

His connection with the Steelhouse crowd was immediate.

The audience sang back.

The front rows surged forward.

And by the time the set reached full speed, the entire arena was completely locked in.

๐ŸŽธ Massive Welsh Riffs Across the Mountain

Florence Black have built their reputation on delivering enormous modern rock songs, and this secret set showed exactly why they remain one of the most exciting bands to emerge from Wales.

The guitars were crushing.

The riffs were thick, heavy and built for festival stages.

Every song hit with enough force to rattle the pints at the back of the arena.

The band blended modern hard rock power with classic influences, creating a sound that felt both fresh and instantly familiar.

The heavier sections encouraged heads to bang, while the huge choruses gave thousands of fans the chance to sing together.

It was loud.

It was passionate.

It was proudly Welsh.

Proper job, mun.

๐Ÿฅ A Band Playing for Something Bigger

Every member of Florence Black appeared completely invested in the moment.

This did not feel like just another slot on another festival bill.

It felt personal.

The rhythm section drove the performance with immense power, holding everything together while the guitars and vocals soared above the crowd.

The drums hit like thunder rolling over the mountains.

The bass added serious weight beneath every riff.

Nothing felt rushed or thrown together.

The band played with focus, passion and the sense that this performance genuinely mattered.

That sincerity travelled straight from the stage into the audience.

๐Ÿค˜ Circle Pits Erupt Across Steelhouse

Despite the emotional nature of the tribute, the Steelhouse crowd did not spend the entire set standing quietly.

Far from it.

As Florence Black cranked up the intensity, circle pits exploded into life in front of the Main Stage.

Fans began running, spinning and throwing themselves into the music as the pit grew bigger and louder.

It was pure festival chaos.

The kind of chaos that only happens when a band and audience completely connect.

People were smiling.

Friends were pulling each other back to their feet.

The energy kept building with every riff.

The circle pits were not a distraction from the tribute.

They became part of it.

A celebration of life, friendship and the power of music to bring people together.

๐ŸŒŠ Crowd Surfers Everywhere

Then came the crowd surfers.

One after another, fans were lifted above the audience and carried towards the barrier on a sea of hands.

Some sailed across the crowd with arms stretched wide.

Others arrived at the front laughing like they had just survived the worldโ€™s loudest rollercoaster.

Security were kept incredibly busy as the surfers kept coming.

At points, it seemed like there were bodies flying everywhere.

The combination of crowd surfers, circle pits, huge riffs and emotional singalongs created one of the most unforgettable atmospheres of Steelhouse Festival 2026.

It was emotional.

It was wild.

It was exactly what live rock music should feel like.

๐Ÿ”๏ธ The Steelhouse Family Stood Together

Perhaps the most powerful part of the performance was the sense of unity across the festival.

Steelhouse has always felt different from larger, more corporate events.

It feels like a family gathering.

Admittedly, it is a family gathering with guitar solos, muddy boots, questionable shirts and enough beer to sink a tour bus.

But it is still a family.

During Florence Blackโ€™s performance, that community spirit was everywhere.

Fans sang together.

Glasses were raised.

Friends hugged.

Circle pits spun.

Crowd surfers flew.

Every part of the audience contributed to a tribute that was respectful, heartfelt and full of life.

For the duration of the set, the entire mountain seemed united in memory of Phill.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Emotion and Chaos in Perfect Balance

It would have been easy for a tribute performance to become overly sombre.

Florence Black found the perfect balance.

They gave the moment the respect it deserved while also creating a celebration worthy of Steelhouse.

There were emotional speeches and heartfelt applause.

There were also crushing riffs and bodies flying over the barrier.

That combination made the performance feel real.

Grief and remembrance are not always quiet.

Sometimes the best tribute is to turn the amplifiers up, gather your friends together and make enough noise to reach the heavens.

Florence Black did exactly that.

๐ŸŽช A Secret Set Nobody Will Forget

The identity of the secret band had been one of the biggest talking points around Steelhouse Festival.

Fans had spent the weekend guessing who might appear.

When Florence Black were finally revealed, the reaction was enormous.

Yet the meaning behind the performance turned the secret set into something much bigger than a surprise booking.

It became one of the defining moments of the festival.

A celebration of Phill.

A showcase for Welsh rock.

And a reminder of why the Steelhouse community is so special.

Long after the tents have been packed away and the festival wristbands have faded, those who witnessed this performance will remember the feeling of standing together on the mountain.

๐Ÿป The Riff Report Verdict

Florence Blackโ€™s secret set was one of the most emotional and explosive performances of Steelhouse Festival 2026.

The band honoured Phill with dignity, passion and enough huge riffs to shake the mountain.

Tristan Thomas delivered an outstanding vocal performance, the entire band played from the heart and the crowd responded with an unforgettable display of unity.

There were tears.

There were raised glasses.

There were circle pits.

There were crowd surfers flying towards the barrier.

It was not simply a concert.

It was a celebration of life, music and the Steelhouse family.
