Held on 19โ€“20 July 2014, Steelhouse Festival 2014 cranked up the volume, dialled in the denim, and packed out the mountain with a lineup bursting with classic rock giants, NWOBHM icons, and Welsh warriors. Rain or shine (and letโ€™s be honest, probably both ๐ŸŒง๏ธโ˜€๏ธ), this year delivered a face-melting weekend of riffs in the heart of Cymru!

Hereโ€™s a look at who took the mountain stage in 2014โ€ฆ ๐ŸŽธ๐Ÿ”ฅ

๐Ÿ”ฅ Saturday โ€“ July 19th

  • Europe ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ช๐ŸŽน (Headliner)
YES โ€“ the mighty Europe headlined Saturday night, and when โ€œThe Final Countdownโ€ echoed across the Valleys, the mountain absolutely erupted. Bombastic, polished, and stadium-sized.

  • Black Star Riders โ˜ ๏ธ๐ŸŽค
Rising from the ashes of Thin Lizzy, these legends-in-the-making brought swagger and soul with hits like โ€œBound for Gloryโ€ and โ€œKingdom of the Lost.โ€

  • The Graveltones ๐Ÿฅ๐ŸŽธ
A two-piece with massive sound โ€“ fuzzy, bluesy, and unapologetically raw.

  • Tax The Heat โšก๐ŸŽฉ
Groovy, modern, and full of 60s swagger with 70s riffage. A Steelhouse favourite in the making.

  • Buffalo Summer ๐Ÿฆฌ๐ŸŒž
Neath’s own blues rockers, soaking up the sun and absolutely slaying it. Proudly flying the Welsh flag!

  • Falling Red โค๏ธ๐ŸŽธ
Sleaze rock, loud and proud โ€“ think Mรถtley Crรผe via the Lake District.

๐Ÿค˜ Sunday โ€“ July 20th

  • Michael Schenkerโ€™s Temple of Rock ๐ŸŽธ๐Ÿ›• (Headliner)
The guitar god himself, with a band of legends including former Scorpions and Rainbow members. โ€œRock You Like a Hurricaneโ€ and โ€œDoctor Doctorโ€ on the mountain? Absolute scenes!

  • Heavenโ€™s Basement ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ
One of the UKโ€™s most exciting live acts at the time โ€“ raw, high-energy, and tight as hell.

  • The Treatment ๐Ÿ’Š๐ŸŽค
Young guns bringing back the old-school, with big riffs and even bigger hair.

  • Skam โšก๐ŸŽถ
Modern hard rock trio delivering thick riffs and festival fury.

  • Western Sand ๐Ÿœ๏ธ๐ŸŽธ
Southern-fried UK rock โ€“ bluesy, crunchy, and full of swagger.

  • Fireroad ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ›ฃ๏ธ
Welsh rockers with soul, groove, and serious stage presence.

๐Ÿ Final Thoughts โ€“ Steelhouse 2014

Europe and Schenker brought the arena magic, while up-and-comers and local legends tore it up across both days. The weather mightโ€™ve been mixed, but the music? Consistently scorching. From glam to blues to pure heavy rock โ€“ 2014 cemented Steelhouse as THE mountain for metal.

Welsh Sayings Recap:

  • โ€œBendigedig!โ€ to Europe for that final countdown moment.

  • โ€œIechyd da!โ€ to the fans powering through with cider in one hand and horns in the other. ๐Ÿป

  • โ€œTidy!โ€ to Buffalo Summer for absolutely killing it.

  • โ€œCโ€™mon Wales!โ€ every time a homegrown act took the stage.

  • โ€œYch-a-fi!โ€ to the state of the loos after Schenkerโ€™s encore ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
