Nightwish powerhouse Floor Jansen is charging into a new era with her second solo album HYTRESS — and if crushing new single ‘Bring Me Silence’ is anything to go by, the metal is well and truly back on the menu.

There are singers.

There are great singers.

And then there’s Floor bloody Jansen. 🤘

The Nightwish vocalist has officially announced her new solo album HYTRESS, due for release on 15 January 2027, and she’s celebrated the news in the only appropriate fashion: by dropping a massive new song called ‘Bring Me Silence’.

And this one has got some serious teeth.

After showcasing a more personal and melodic side of her songwriting on debut solo album Paragon, Floor appears ready to turn those amplifiers back towards LOUD.

🔥 ‘Bring Me Silence’ – Floor Turns Up the Heavy

‘Bring Me Silence’ brings together the emotional songwriting of Floor’s solo career with the heavier musical world that millions of fans already associate with that unmistakable voice.

There are chunky guitars.

There’s atmosphere.

There’s power.

And naturally, there are those ridiculous Floor Jansen vocals capable of going from beautifully delicate to someone has just opened the gates of Valhalla within seconds.

The song tackles something plenty of us can probably relate to — living in a world that seemingly never shuts up.

Phones buzzing.

Notifications pinging.

Social media screaming.

Emails arriving.

Someone inevitably sending you a message that could absolutely have waited until tomorrow.

Sometimes you just want everything to go…

SILENT.

The track explores that desire to escape the constant noise and pressure of modern life and find a little breathing room.

Although Floor’s solo material has allowed her to explore different musical territory, ‘Bring Me Silence’ feels like those worlds colliding beautifully.

Her melodic side is still there.

Her vulnerability is still there.

But somebody appears to have plugged the guitars back in.

And frankly?

We approve. 😈🤘

💿 Welcome to HYTRESS

HYTRESS will be Floor Jansen’s second solo studio album, following 2023’s Paragon.

While Paragon explored pop, rock and cinematic influences, the early signs surrounding HYTRESS suggest Floor is pushing things into a heavier, sharper and more direct direction.

That doesn’t mean she’s simply making “Nightwish without Nightwish”, either.

This remains very much Floor Jansen’s own musical world.

That’s arguably what makes this next chapter particularly exciting.

Floor has spent decades moving effortlessly through metal, progressive music, symphonic grandeur and more intimate songwriting. Her career has included After Forever, ReVamp and, of course, her extraordinary run fronting Nightwish.

HYTRESS gives her another opportunity to take all those experiences, throw them into the musical blender and see what glorious racket comes flying out.

🎵 HYTRESS Tracklist

The album is set to contain 12 tracks:

  1. Reverse Polarity
  2. Everything Is Moving On
  3. Wildfire
  4. Cathedral Of One
  5. Bring Me Silence
  6. Fighting
  7. I Am Drowning
  8. Rock The Bells
  9. It’s Time For Change
  10. Verity
  11. RUN
  12. Haven

Even some of those titles sound enormous.

‘Cathedral Of One’?

That’s practically begging for Floor to unleash vocals big enough to remove the roof from an actual cathedral. 😂

And then we’ve got something called ‘Rock The Bells’.

C’mon mun.

Our curiosity levels are officially dangerous.

🎤 HYTRESS Tour 2027 Is Coming

Floor isn’t planning on leaving these songs sitting quietly on Spotify either.

The HYTRESS Tour 2027 will take her new solo era onto stages around the world, with dates planned across Europe and South America.

UK fans haven’t been forgotten, either.

🇬🇧 16 January 2027 – Electric Brixton, London

That’s just one day after the album’s scheduled release.

Meaning British fans could potentially be among the first crowds anywhere to experience the new HYTRESS material properly unleashed onstage.

And anyone who has witnessed Floor Jansen live already knows exactly what that means.

That voice through a proper PA system?

Absolutely monstrous.

🤘 Floor Jansen Is Entering Another Chapter

One of the most fascinating things about Floor Jansen’s career has always been her refusal to stay inside one musical box.

She’s stood at the front of enormous symphonic metal shows.

She’s delivered delicate solo performances.

She’s tackled rock, pop, progressive music and everything lurking between them.

And now HYTRESS looks ready to bring some of those worlds crashing together.

For Nightwish fans craving Floor’s heavier side, ‘Bring Me Silence’ should immediately get the eyebrows raised and devil horns airborne. 🤘

But equally, this isn’t about recreating her past.

It’s another evolution.

Another chapter.

Another opportunity for one of rock and metal’s most spectacular voices to show us what happens when she’s completely in control of the destination.

And judging by ‘Bring Me Silence’…

The destination appears to contain quite a lot of riffs.

Lovely stuff. 🔥

🔥 The Riff Report Verdict

Floor Jansen going heavier with her solo material?

YES, MUN.

Bring Me Silence feels like a bridge between the emotional freedom of her solo career and the metallic power that’s been woven throughout her musical history.

With HYTRESS arriving in January and a world tour following, 2027 could be a massive year for Floor Jansen.

We’ll be keeping a very close eye on this one.

Preferably while standing somewhere near a massive speaker.
