Bring Me The Horizon have officially entered the Fortnite universe, with one of the Sheffield heavyweightsโ biggest songs joining Fortnite Festival.
From sweaty festival pits to virtual stages packed with banana people, superheroes and whatever other absolute madness Fortnite throws at us these days โ Bring Me The Horizon are continuing their march towards world domination. ๐ธ๐ฅ
The British rock giants have joined the ever-growing collection of rock and metal royalty featured in Fortnite Festival, following in the footsteps of bands including Metallica, Linkin Park and Slipknot.
And the song getting the Fortnite treatment?
๐ต โCan You Feel My Heartโ
Oh yes.
That unmistakable opening synth is about to soundtrack a whole new generation of gamers desperately trying not to completely butcher the rhythm section. ๐
Released on Bring Me The Horizonโs hugely influential 2013 album Sempiternal, โCan You Feel My Heartโ has become one of the defining songs of the bandโs career.
Now it has officially made the jump into Fortnite Festival.
๐ฎ BMTH ENTER THE FORTNITE FESTIVAL
Fortnite Festival has steadily become one of gamingโs most interesting destinations for rock fans.
Developed as Fortniteโs rhythm-game experience, Festival lets players perform songs using different instrument parts including guitar, bass, drums and vocals.
Essentiallyโฆ
Rock Band wandered into Fortnite after drinking three cans of Monster and decided to stay.
And weโre absolutely here for it. ๐ค
Bring Me The Horizon joining the game feels particularly significant because theyโre another enormous modern rock act crossing into a space traditionally dominated by pop, hip-hop and mainstream chart music.
Even better, theyโre walking through a door already kicked spectacularly off its hinges by some massive names.
โก METALLICA WENT ALL-IN
Metallica didnโt merely chuck a song into Fortnite and disappear.
They practically invaded the place.
The metal legends became Fortnite Festival Season 4 Icons in 2024, bringing Metallica-themed content, band member outfits and a stack of songs into the game.
There was even the massive interactive Metallica: Fuel. Fire. Fury. experience.
Seeing one of the biggest heavy metal bands in history appearing inside one of the worldโs biggest video games was a proper landmark moment.
Metallica had officially entered Fortnite.
And somehow seeing James Hetfield standing next to a bloke dressed as a giant banana stopped seeming weird remarkably quickly.
Gaming is brilliant. ๐๐
๐ฅ LINKIN PARK JOINED THE PARTY
Linkin Park have also become part of Fortnite Festivalโs increasingly ridiculous rock and metal catalogue.
Songs from the band have appeared as playable Jam Tracks, putting those instantly recognisable Linkin Park riffs into the hands of millions of Fortnite players.
Considering Linkin Parkโs enormous crossover appeal between rock, metal, electronic music and mainstream culture, Fortnite Festival feels almost tailor-made for them.
And now BMTH are entering similar territory.
๐ SLIPKNOT HAVE BEEN THERE TOO
Yes.
Slipknot. In Fortnite.
Imagine explaining that sentence to someone in 1999.
Slipknotโs music has also made its way into Fortnite Festival, meaning players can experience some considerably heavier material amongst the gameโs enormous musical catalogue.
The fact weโve reached a point where Metallica, Slipknot, Linkin Park and Bring Me The Horizon can all exist within Fortniteโs musical universe tells you something pretty important.
Heavy music is absolutely massive with younger audiences.
And thatโs bloody brilliant.
๐ต WHY โCAN YOU FEEL MY HEARTโ MAKES PERFECT SENSE
If Epic Games wanted one Bring Me The Horizon track capable of introducing the band to millions of Fortnite players, this was always going to be near the top of the list.
โCan You Feel My Heartโ has enjoyed an extraordinary second life online.
Years after appearing on Sempiternal, the song exploded across social media and meme culture, helping introduce BMTH to audiences who might never previously have wandered anywhere near alternative music.
That massive electronic opening has become instantly recognisable.
You hear about two seconds and immediately know whatโs coming.
DUN-DUN-DUN-DUNNNNN.
You heard it in your head, didnโt you?
๐๐ค
The track sits right at the crossroads between metalcore, electronic music and enormous arena-ready alternative rock โ exactly the kind of crossover anthem that works brilliantly within Fortnite Festival.
๐ธ FROM SHEFFIELD TO THE DIGITAL MAIN STAGE
Itโs another surreal milestone for Bring Me The Horizon.
This is a band whose journey has been absolutely bonkers.
From the chaotic deathcore days of Count Your Blessings, through Suicide Season, There Is a Hell Believe Me Iโve Seen It. There Is a Heaven Letโs Keep It a Secret., Sempiternal, Thatโs the Spirit, amo and the ambitious POST HUMAN era, BMTH have repeatedly ripped up their own rulebook.
Every time someone attempts to stick them neatly inside a genre box, Oli Sykes and company appear to kick the box down the stairs.
Metalcore.
Alternative metal.
Electronic rock.
Pop.
Industrial.
Hyperpop influences.
Arena rock.
Whatever they fancy next.
And somehow it keeps sounding unmistakably like Bring Me The Horizon.
๐ฎ FORTNITE IS BECOMING A SERIOUS ROCK PLATFORM
Hereโs the interesting bit.
Fortnite Festival isnโt simply a novelty anymore.
Fortnite has an absolutely enormous global audience, and putting rock and metal songs directly into that ecosystem gives bands exposure to players who might otherwise never encounter them.
A teenager might load Fortnite to play Battle Royale.
They wander into Festival.
They discover โCan You Feel My Heartโ.
Then they discover Sempiternal.
Then they discover Bring Me The Horizonโs back catalogue.
Then Metallica.
Then Slipknot.
Then Linkin Park.
Then suddenly theyโre standing in a festival field wearing black jeans while paying ยฃ8 for loaded chips.
The pipeline is complete. ๐๐ค
Anything introducing new listeners to guitar music gets a thumbs-up from us.
Because somewhere out there, somebody could discover their favourite band because they heard them while playing Fortnite.
And thatโs pretty bloody cool.
๐ค THE RIFF REPORT VERDICT
Bring Me The Horizon joining Fortnite Festival feels like another sign of just how deeply rock and metal have worked their way back into mainstream pop culture.
Metallica have done it.
Slipknot have done it.
Linkin Park have done it.
Now Bring Me The Horizon are joining the party.
And โCan You Feel My Heartโ is about as perfect a track as you could choose.
One of Britainโs biggest modern rock bands meeting one of the worldโs biggest games?
Tidy. ๐ค๐ฅ
Now we only have one questionโฆ
When are we getting a full Bring Me The Horizon Fortnite takeover?
Oli Sykes skin.
BMTH stage.
Massive pyro.
A digital mosh pit.
Maybe even a giant inflatable church floating over the map.
Cโmon Fortnite.
You know you want to. ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ
Proudly Welsh. Proudly Loud. Zero Apologies. ๐๐ค
