There was no Glastonbury Festival in 2026.

The festival took one of its traditional fallow years, giving Worthy Farm, the surrounding land, local community and enormous festival operation a well-earned break.

Glastonbury isn’t held on a purpose-built festival site.

It’s a working dairy farm and surrounding farmland.

For most of the year?

Fields.

Agriculture.

Then every so often somebody builds one of the world’s biggest music festivals on top of it.

Giving the land time to recover helps make that extraordinary transformation sustainable in the long term.

But after a whole year without Glastonbury?

Demand for 2027 is going to be absolutely enormous.

A second permanent Pyramid followed in 1981 before being destroyed by fire in 1994.

Today’s structure has become synonymous with Glastonbury itself.

It doesn’t feel like attending a DJ set.

It feels like somebody accidentally opened a portal into a dystopian rave dimension.

Every edition brings new creative themes.

You don’t simply visit a stage.

You explore streets, spaces and artworks.

“Beside the weird thing” is not sufficiently specific at Glastonbury.
