The Prince of Darkness may have left us, but the festival carrying his name is preparing to roar back into life. Ozzfest has officially confirmed that its huge 2027 return will take place at Villa Park in Birmingham β and now attention is turning towards one massive question: WHO THE HELL IS PLAYING?
Oh yes, butt. This is getting serious. π€π₯
After months of talk surrounding the resurrection of one of heavy metalβs most legendary festivals, Ozzfest 2027 has officially confirmed Villa Park as the home of its UK comeback, bringing the festival to a venue already forever connected with Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath.
And if that wasnβt enough to get the battle jackets twitching, organisers have also begun teasing the forthcoming line-up announcement.
Metalheads, prepare yourselves.
Something massive is brewing in Birmingham. π
ποΈ Ozzfest Is Heading to Villa Park
Villa Park isnβt simply another massive stadium capable of holding thousands of screaming metalheads.
This place now carries some serious heavy metal history.
The Birmingham home of Aston Villa was the setting for Black Sabbathβs monumental Back To The Beginning concert in July 2025, when Ozzy Osbourne and his Sabbath bandmates returned to their hometown for an extraordinary celebration of the music they helped create.
It was emotional.
It was enormous.
And it was Birmingham reminding the world that heavy metal was bloody well born there. π€
Now Ozzfest is heading to the same ground.
There couldnβt be a more fitting location.
π¦ Bringing Ozzfest Home
Ozzfest and Birmingham feel like they belong together.
Ozzy Osbourne was one of Birminghamβs greatest musical exports, while Black Sabbath changed heavy music forever after emerging from the industrial streets of Aston.
Taking Ozzfest to Villa Park therefore feels less like simply choosing a venue and more like bringing the whole thing home.
This isnβt Ozzfest randomly appearing in another stadium.
This is Ozzfest in Ozzyβs backyard.
And you can already imagine what Villa Park could look like.
Black shirts everywhere.
Battle jackets covered in patches.
Thousands of horns in the air.
Massive riffs bouncing around the stands.
Beer being launched approximately seventeen miles through the air because apparently carrying a pint through a metal crowd is an extreme sport.
Beautiful. ππΊ
π₯ BUT WHOβS PLAYING OZZFEST 2027?
And now we arrive at the question currently rattling around every metalheadβs skull.
Who is going to be on the Ozzfest 2027 line-up?
That remains the massive mystery.
Specific artists have yet to be officially revealed, but with the festival teasing further announcements, speculation is inevitably going to go absolutely bonkers.
And letβs face it β thatβs half the fun.
Ozzfest has never been some quiet little afternoon in a field with a bloke playing an acoustic guitar while everyone politely eats hummus.
This festival has history.
Serious history.
Over the decades, Ozzfest helped showcase some of the biggest and most important names in heavy music, while simultaneously giving emerging bands the opportunity to play in front of enormous audiences.
So expectations for the comeback are going to be ridiculously high.
π€ The Ozzfest Legacy Is Absolutely Massive
For younger metal fans, it can be difficult to explain just how important Ozzfest became.
Launched by Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne in the 1990s, the festival grew into one of the defining heavy music touring festivals of its era.
Ozzfest wasnβt merely about watching Ozzy.
It became a gathering place for metal culture.
Across its history, Ozzfest bills featured absolute monsters from the worlds of metal, alternative metal, nu-metal, hardcore and beyond.
It helped introduce audiences to emerging bands while placing them alongside established heavyweights.
For an entire generation of fans, an Ozzfest ticket wasnβt simply admission to a concert.
It was a bloody pilgrimage. π€
You went home sunburnt, exhausted, probably missing a shoe and possessing at least one questionable piece of merchandise.
Thatβs a successful festival, mun.
π€ 2027 Will Carry Huge Emotional Weight
Of course, the return of Ozzfest now carries an emotional significance nobody could ignore.
Ozzy Osbourneβs influence stretches far beyond the records carrying his name.
His personality, music, humour and wonderfully unpredictable presence became intertwined with heavy metal culture itself.
Ozzfest was a huge part of that legacy.
Bringing the festival back therefore provides an opportunity to celebrate not only the history of the event but the enormous contribution Ozzy made to rock and metal.
And doing it in Birmingham?
That could create some incredibly emotional moments.
You can almost guarantee there wonβt be many dry eyes if thousands of fans inside Villa Park start singing an Ozzy classic together.
πΈ Could Ozzfest Become a Regular Festival Again?
Thatβs another fascinating question.
Is Villa Park 2027 going to be a spectacular one-off celebration?
Or are we witnessing the beginning of a proper Ozzfest revival?
Previous discussions surrounding the festivalβs comeback have suggested ambitions extending beyond Britain, including the possibility of events in the United States.
If that happens, Ozzfest could potentially become a major name on the international festival calendar once again.
And the appetite is certainly there.
Heavy music festivals remain enormous across Britain, Europe and America, while nostalgia for the huge touring festivals of the late β90s and early 2000s has never really disappeared.
Give metalheads enough riffs, reasonably priced beer and somewhere to stand while complaining about the weather, and weβll turn up.
Simple economics. π
π Now We Wait for That Line-Upβ¦
This is where things get VERY interesting.
Villa Park confirmed. β
Ozzfest returning. β
Birmingham preparing for another enormous metal gathering. β
Line-up?
COMING SOONβ¦ π
Until those names officially drop, the rumour machine is inevitably going to be running at approximately 900mph.
Every touring schedule will be examined.
Every suspicious gap in a bandβs calendar will suddenly become βproofβ.
Every vague Instagram post will become an Ozzfest conspiracy theory.
And somewhere on the internet, somebody will confidently announce a 37-band line-up based entirely on the fact that a guitarist liked Sharon Osbourneβs Instagram post.
Festival season, baby. ππ€
π¦ Birmingham β Prepare for Ozzfest
Whatever that eventual bill looks like, the confirmation of Villa Park for Ozzfest 2027 already feels significant.
One of heavy metalβs most famous festival names is preparing to return.
Itβs happening in the city where Black Sabbath began.
Itβs happening at a stadium now deeply connected with one of the most emotional moments in Sabbath history.
And itβs happening beneath the name of one of heavy metalβs greatest icons.
Ozzfest is coming home.
Now give us that bloody line-up. ππ₯π€
