Good news, ArcTanGent campers — the morning brew is BACK ON! ☕🤘
With ArcTanGent 2026 preparing to unleash four days of riffs, noise, mathematical wizardry and glorious campsite chaos near Bristol from 19–22 August 2026, organisers have issued an important last-minute update regarding campsite cooking.
Following some much-needed overnight rain, the festival has confirmed that gas camp stoves can now be used in the campsite — provided festival-goers follow some important safety precautions.
BBQs, however, are still banned.
So put that disposable barbecue back in the shed, butt. 🌭😂
🔥 Gas Camp Stoves Are Now Allowed
Due to the extremely dry conditions leading up to the festival, fire safety has understandably been a major concern.
However, following rainfall overnight, ArcTanGent organisers have reassessed the situation and confirmed that gas camping stoves are now permitted.
There is one massive condition:
⚠️ THEY MUST BE RAISED OFF THE GROUND.
Organisers have stressed that although conditions have improved, the campsite is still pretty dry, meaning everyone needs to use a bit of common sense.
If you’re bringing a gas stove, make sure it’s stable, safely positioned and kept away from tents, grass and anything else that might decide to become unexpectedly flammable.
Festival breakfast is glorious.
Festival breakfast accompanied by the local fire brigade is considerably less glorious. 😬🔥
🚫 BBQs Are Still Banned
This bit hasn’t changed.
BBQs remain prohibited at ArcTanGent 2026.
That means the overnight rain hasn’t suddenly given everyone permission to start turning the campsite into the world’s muddiest branch of Harvester.
The distinction is important:
Gas camp stove = allowed with caution. ✅
BBQ = still banned. ❌
So if you’d been planning burgers, sausages and enough bacon to feed an entire post-metal band, you’ll need another plan.
☕ THE CAMPSITE BREW HAS BEEN SAVED
Let’s concentrate on the really important news here.
YOU CAN MAKE TEA.
Anyone who has survived a British festival campsite knows there are few things more beautiful than crawling out of a tent at stupid o’clock in the morning, looking like you’ve been dragged backwards through a hedge, and getting a kettle going.
Especially after spending the previous night watching bands until your ears have filed for divorce.
Tea.
Coffee.
Pot Noodles.
Camping breakfasts.
They’re back on the menu. 🤘☕
Just keep that stove safely off the ground.
🌧️ The Rain Has Helped – But Conditions Remain Dry
The change follows some rain overnight, which has helped improve conditions enough for organisers to relax the restriction surrounding gas stoves.
However, this doesn’t mean the fire risk has disappeared completely.
ArcTanGent has made it clear that the site remains relatively dry, so campers need to be sensible.
Keep your stove raised.
Keep it stable.
Don’t leave it unattended.
Keep it well away from tents and other flammable material.
And perhaps don’t attempt to recreate MasterChef: ArcTanGent Edition after eight pints.
Nobody needs that level of chaos.
🚗 Festival-Goers Also Urged to Check Travel Information
With ArcTanGent kicking off tomorrow, Wednesday 19 August, organisers are also reminding festival-goers to check the latest information before setting off — particularly driving directions and arrival instructions.
If you’re travelling to the festival, it’s worth giving all the official information another read before chucking your tent into the car and screaming:
“RIGHT THEN, BRISTOL!”
Nobody wants their first ArcTanGent headline act to be Google Maps saying:
“Recalculating…”
for the seventeenth time. 😂
🤘 ArcTanGent 2026 Is Almost Here!
And that’s it.
The tents are packed.
The bands are coming.
The campsite is nearly ready.
And thanks to a bit of perfectly timed British rain, the camping stove has received a last-minute reprieve.
ArcTanGent 2026 takes place from Wednesday 19 August to Saturday 22 August 2026, bringing another enormous gathering of progressive metal, post-rock, math rock, experimental music and wonderfully strange heavy sounds to the Bristol area.
For anyone heading down, the final message is simple:
🔥 Gas camp stoves — YES, with caution and raised off the ground.
🚫 BBQs — NO.
☕ Morning brew — SAVED.
🤘 Riffs — IMMINENT.
And given this is a British festival, we’re sure the weather will now spend the next four days changing its mind every eleven minutes.
Have a cracking ArcTanGent, folks. Stay safe, look after each other and for the love of riffs, don’t set your bloody tent on fire. 😂🔥
Proudly Welsh. Proudly Loud. 🐉🤘
