Steelhouse Festival returns from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 July 2027, bringing another weekend of classic rock, hard rock, blues, emerging talent and mountain-top mayhem to Hafod-y-Dafal Farm near Ebbw Vale.

Here in Cymru, we don’t always do festivals the easy way.

Sometimes we put them on top of a bloody mountain.

And Steelhouse wouldn’t have it any other way. 🐉🤘

⛰️ The Festival On Top Of A Welsh Mountain

Steelhouse’s location isn’t simply where the festival happens.

It’s part of what Steelhouse is.

Hafod-y-Dafal Farm sits high above the South Wales Valleys on the southern edge of the Bannau Brycheiniog landscape, providing one of the most spectacular settings you’ll find at a British rock festival.

The journey up has become almost as legendary as the event itself.

The views are enormous.

The weather can occasionally have ideas of its own.

Steelhouse offers three days of live music, beginning on Friday afternoon and continuing through Saturday and Sunday.

Unlike enormous festivals with stages spread across several postcodes, Steelhouse keeps things wonderfully straightforward.

No heartbreaking clashes.

No sprinting across a field because you’ve realised another band started ten minutes ago.

No standing in one tent while wondering whether you’ve made a catastrophic timetable decision.

The Steelhouse Festival 2027 line-up has not yet been officially announced.

So for now, the mountain is keeping its secrets.

But if previous Steelhouse bills are anything to go by, there should be plenty worth getting excited about.

Over the years, the festival has welcomed a ridiculous collection of rock heavyweights including:

⛺ Camping At Steelhouse

Steelhouse offers several camping options for anyone wanting the full weekend experience.

Camping is not automatically included with the standard arena ticket, so you’ll need the appropriate additional camping pass.

⛺ General Camping

Standard camping is available for festival-goers aged 15 and over, with reduced-price passes for children aged 4–14.

The current first-release price is:

£40 per adult

The campsite opens from midday on Friday 23 July 2027, with festival-goers required to leave by 11:00am on Monday 26 July.

There are several campsite areas, including options designed around different needs.

So whether you’re there for late-night campsite nonsense or desperately hoping nobody within fifty metres owns an acoustic guitar, there’s an option.

Fancy Steelhouse without attempting to construct a tent while arguing over which pole belongs where?

Glamping is already available for 2027.

The festival offers pre-pitched bell tents with different accommodation packages, including traditional and upgraded luxury options.

Depending on your package, facilities can include proper beds, mattresses, flooring, lighting and other comforts.

There’s also access to dedicated showers and toilets.

Considerably less lying on a thin foam mat wondering why your back hates you.

🚐 Campervans & Live-In Vehicles

Campervans, motorhomes, caravans and appropriate live-in vehicles are welcome within their designated section.

However, you’ll need the correct passes for everyone staying there.

The current first-release adult campervan camping price is:

£50 per person

And an important point:

A van with a mattress thrown in the back doesn’t automatically become a campervan because you’ve given it a nickname.

The vehicle needs to be properly adapted for living and sleeping.

Nice try, though.

🚗 Driving Up The Mountain

Let’s address the famous bit.

Yes.

Steelhouse is on a mountain.

Yes.

You have to get there.

The access road has become part of festival folklore, particularly among people driving heavily loaded cars full of camping equipment.

Take your time.

Follow festival directions.

Don’t drive like you’re qualifying for the Welsh Rally.

And maybe give the car a little encouraging pat before heading uphill.

Parking is available separately, with advance car parking currently priced at:

£20 per vehicle

Motorcycles and qualifying Blue Badge holders can park free of charge.

🚆 Steelhouse Shuttle Bus

Don’t fancy driving up the mountain?

Good news.

Steelhouse operates a shuttle bus between Ebbw Vale Parkway railway station and the festival site.

That’s particularly useful for anyone travelling into South Wales by train.

Get yourself to Ebbw Vale.

Jump on the festival shuttle.

Let somebody else worry about the hill.

Beautiful.

👨‍👩‍👧 Steelhouse With Kids

Steelhouse welcomes younger rock fans.

Children aged 4–14 receive reduced-price tickets, while children under four attend free.

Anyone under 18 must attend with an adult.

Families also have access to a separate quieter camping area, which is probably preferable if your young rocker isn’t quite ready for somebody shouting Whitesnake songs at 2:30am.

👂 Protect Those Lugholes

Steelhouse is a rock festival.

Rock festivals are loud.

Therefore:

Ear protection.

For everyone.

But particularly children.

Good filtered concert earplugs reduce dangerous sound levels without ruining the music, while younger festival-goers should have suitable child-specific hearing defenders.

You want them discovering rock music young.

You don’t want them discovering tinnitus young.

Steelhouse provides several accessibility facilities, although anyone attending needs to remember that Hafod-y-Dafal is a working farm on top of a mountain.

That means natural inclines, grass and uneven ground.

Wet weather can also make parts of the site considerably more difficult to navigate.

You could spend Saturday afternoon enjoying glorious sunshine and then suddenly find yourself wondering whether somebody has relocated the North Atlantic directly over your tent.

🍺 The Beer Tent

When the main stage shuts down, Steelhouse doesn’t immediately become silent.

The beer tent traditionally keeps things moving with late-night rock DJ sets.

Which means you can spend an entire day watching bands before heading straight into several more hours of singing songs you’ve already heard approximately 8,000 times.

Will you still scream the chorus?

Obviously.

It’s a festival.

🍔 Food & Drink

Food traders operate throughout the arena, while additional vendors serve the campsite.

That means you’ll have options before, during and after the bands.

As always, sensible festival advice applies:

Eat something.

Beer isn’t breakfast.

Regardless of how convincingly your mate argues otherwise.

Keep hydrated, particularly if Wales unexpectedly delivers three days of blazing July sunshine.

It’s a working farm.

Steelhouse places considerable emphasis on respecting the land and leaving the site in good condition.

Recycling facilities are provided throughout the campsite and arena.

Glass is strictly prohibited across the site.

Use the bins.

Recycle what you can.

Take your camping equipment home.

Basically:

Don’t be a weapon.

We want Steelhouse to keep rocking the mountain for years to come.
