Prepare for riffs, ridiculous musicianship, gaming culture and at least one performance that sounds like the gates of Hell opening inside an abandoned steelworks because RADAR Festival returns from Friday 30 July to Sunday 1 August 2027.

But there’s a massive change for the next edition.

RADAR has a brand-new home.

After several years at Manchester’s O2 Victoria Warehouse, the independent progressive and alternative festival is moving across the Pennines to the spectacular Magna Science Adventure Centre, the former Templeborough steelworks sitting between Sheffield and Rotherham.

Industrial architecture.

Towering spaces.

Progressive metal.

Video games.

Massive riffs.

Yeah…

This could work rather nicely.

And RADAR isn’t gently introducing the new venue either.

The first confirmed 2027 headliner is Mick Gordon, who will perform the legendary DOOM soundtrack live for the first time, complete with a full band, live orchestra and Gordon’s infamous custom-built DOOM Machine.

That’s not a bad way to christen the new place.

🔥 RADAR Festival Has A New Home

The move to Magna represents one of the biggest changes in RADAR’s history.

The festival previously established itself at O2 Victoria Warehouse in Manchester, following its earlier years in Guildford.

For 2027, however, RADAR begins another chapter inside one of Britain’s most unusual festival venues.

Magna Science Adventure Centre occupies the former Templeborough steelworks.

And it looks absolutely massive.

Rather than trying to disguise the building’s industrial heritage, RADAR plans to embrace it.
