🌙 Remembering The Moon – Cardiff
For years, The Moon was one of the most important grassroots venues on Cardiff’s Womanby Street.
It supported punk, hardcore, alternative music, metal, independent promoters and artists who might otherwise have struggled to find a stage.
Sadly, The Moon closed in 2024 after battling the rising costs and relentless pressures facing Britain’s grassroots venues.
Although it can no longer be included as a current destination, it absolutely deserves recognition. Thousands of fans, musicians and promoters carry memories from that little room, and its absence remains a painful reminder that cherished venues cannot survive on appreciation alone.
They need people through the doors.
