As the sun began to sink behind the spectacular Brecon Beacons, Steelhouse Festival 2026 welcomed one of the most entertaining bands of the weekend to the Main Stage.
At 7:50pm, Alien Ant Farm burst onto the stage with all the swagger, humour and infectious energy that has made them festival favourites for more than two decades.
From the opening riff, it was clear this wasn’t going to be a laid-back Sunday evening.
It was going to be absolute chaos.
Massive singalongs.
Huge riffs.
Circle pits.
Crowd surfers.
And enough smiles to light up the Welsh mountain.
Alien Ant Farm reminded everyone exactly why they’ve remained one of the most exciting live bands in rock.
🎤 Dryden Mitchell Had the Crowd in the Palm of His Hand
Frontman Dryden Mitchell was simply brilliant.
His unmistakable voice sounded fantastic throughout the set, effortlessly moving between melodic verses, explosive choruses and moments of playful banter with the Steelhouse crowd.
Dryden never stopped moving.
He sprinted across the stage, danced, laughed with the audience and made every person in front of him feel part of the show.
His charisma was infectious.
The crowd loved every second.
It was impossible not to smile watching him perform.
🎸 Riffs That Took Us Straight Back to the 2000s
Alien Ant Farm have always had a knack for writing riffs that stick in your head for days.
Live, those riffs sounded even bigger.
The guitars were crisp, punchy and packed with energy, while the rhythm section locked everything together with relentless precision.
Every song had the crowd bouncing.
Every chorus became louder than the last.
It was a perfect reminder of why the band became one of the defining names of alternative rock.

Behind the frontman, the rest of the band were exceptional.

One after another they floated towards the barrier, carried safely across a sea of raised hands while security worked flat out to keep up.

It was exactly what a Sunday evening festival crowd should look like.

Alien Ant Farm’s set was packed with songs that instantly transported fans back to the early 2000s.
Every familiar riff was met with huge cheers, but when “Movies” arrived, the audience erupted into one giant singalong.
Then came the moment everyone had been waiting for.
The unmistakable opening of “Smooth Criminal.”
The entire Steelhouse crowd exploded.
Thousands of voices sang every word, fists punched the air and the Welsh mountains echoed with one of the biggest choruses of the weekend.
It was one of those magical Steelhouse moments that nobody in attendance will ever forget.

As the daylight faded over the Brecon Beacons, Alien Ant Farm delivered the perfect soundtrack to the evening.
The combination of timeless songs, spectacular scenery and an audience completely lost in the music created one of the most memorable atmospheres of the entire festival.
