The home of heavy metal is preparing to celebrate its greatest son with a city-wide tribute packed with music, memories and plenty of Sabbath spirit.
Birmingham is set to become the centre of the rock and metal world once again as it hosts the very first Ozzy Day on 22 July 2026, marking one year since the passing of the legendary Ozzy Osbourne.
The free celebration will see fans from across the UK descend on the city where heavy metal was born, with a packed programme of live music, exhibitions, fan activities and tributes dedicated to the unforgettable Prince of Darkness.
For one special day, Birmingham won’t just remember Ozzy—it will celebrate everything he achieved, from his humble beginnings in Aston to becoming one of the most recognisable figures in music history.
🎸 A City Built on Heavy Metal
Few musicians are as closely linked to their hometown as Ozzy Osbourne is to Birmingham.
Growing up in Aston before forming Black Sabbath alongside Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward, Ozzy helped create a sound that changed music forever. What began in Birmingham’s factories and working-class streets would eventually become the soundtrack for generations of rock and metal fans around the world.

The exhibition celebrates every stage of Ozzy’s incredible career, showcasing personal memorabilia, photographs, awards and tributes from fans around the world.

Birmingham’s famous mechanical bull, affectionately named Ozzy, will receive a special makeover for the occasion.
