Winter’s End is turning ten — and the first wave of bands for the 2027 anniversary edition has landed with all the subtlety of a guitar amp falling down the stairs.
The much-loved indoor rock festival will return to Trecco Bay Holiday Park in Porthcawl, South Wales, from 28th to 31st January 2027, bringing together another huge weekend of riffs, pints, friendships and glorious holiday-park chaos.
And because this is the festival’s 10th anniversary event, the organisers have clearly decided that going small was not an option.
The first announcement includes Bywater Call, The Answer, LN, Beaux Gris Gris & The Apocalypse, Dan Byrne, Ward XVI, Black Orchid Empire, The Dust Coda, Winter In Eden and Dead Writers.
That is a tidy opening salvo, mun.
🎉 Ten Years of Winter’s End
For a full decade, Winter’s End has been helping rock fans survive the bleakest part of the year by replacing January misery with massive choruses, loud guitars and several days of questionable sleep.
The festival has carved out a special place in the UK rock calendar thanks to its intimate atmosphere, strong line-ups and the simple joy of being able to watch brilliant live music without having to pitch a tent in a field while horizontal rain attacks your face.
The 2027 edition will celebrate ten years of bands, fans, friendships and unforgettable performances.

🔥 Bywater Call to Headline Friday
Canadian roots-rock powerhouse Bywater Call will headline the Friday night, bringing their soulful blend of blues, rock and Americana to Porthcawl.
The band have developed a fearsome reputation as a live act, combining powerhouse vocals, emotionally charged musicianship and the sort of grooves that make standing still completely impossible.
Their Winter’s End appearance promises to be one of the standout performances of the weekend, with the band perfectly suited to the festival’s passionate, close-knit atmosphere.

⚡ The Answer Close the Anniversary Weekend
Northern Irish rock favourites The Answer will headline Sunday, bringing the anniversary celebrations to a thunderous close.
Known for their huge riffs, blues-soaked swagger and arena-sized choruses, The Answer have long been one of the most dependable live bands in British and Irish rock.
Their appearance will be an exclusive one-off headline performance, making it an especially tasty booking for fans.
Closing the festival’s 10th anniversary with The Answer feels wonderfully appropriate.

There may even be a few grown rock fans pretending they have something in their eye.
⚔️ LN Continue Their Rise
The Riff Report is especially excited to see LN included in the first announcement.
The Newcastle-based pagan and Viking metal band have been building a serious reputation thanks to their theatrical performances, thunderous riffs and dramatic mixture of soaring clean vocals and harsh growls.
After their storming appearance at Steelhouse Festival, LN now head into another major UK festival booking with momentum firmly behind them.
Their combination of folk elements, heavy guitars and full-blown battle-ready stage energy should make them one of the most distinctive acts of the entire weekend.
Expect war paint, atmosphere and enough heaviness to wake every caravan in Trecco Bay.
🎸 Beaux Gris Gris Bring the Apocalypse
Beaux Gris Gris & The Apocalypse are also heading to Winter’s End, which means festival-goers should prepare themselves for one of the most unpredictable and energetic live shows on the circuit.
The band blend blues, rock, soul, funk and pure rock ’n’ roll chaos into performances that feel less like ordinary gigs and more like somebody has accidentally set fire to a travelling carnival.

Black Orchid Empire will add another dose of modern hard rock to the anniversary line-up.

And unlike the traditional British festival experience, Winter’s End offers the luxury of proper accommodation.
