Right. Gather round, riff-heads, because this one’s been rattling around our skulls like a loose drumstick in a washing machine. 🥁😤

The upcoming Masters of the Universe reboot had one absolutely golden, Eternia-shaking opportunity… and it’s completely whiffed it.

No Punk Rock Factory on the theme tune.

And honestly, mun? That’s criminal.

⚔️ HE-MAN IS NOT SUBTLE — SO WHY IS THE SOUNDTRACK?

Let’s remind ourselves who we’re dealing with here. He-Man is a bloke who solves problems by:

  • Raising a sword
  • Glowing like a radioactive fridge
  • Yelling his job title at the sky

This is not a character built for moody ambience or tasteful orchestral restraint. This is peak 80s nonsense. Big muscles. Bigger hair. Zero chill. 💪✨

And yet… Hollywood will almost certainly give us something safe. Something cinematic. Something that politely nods at nostalgia instead of grabbing it by the shoulders and shouting “I HAVE THE POWER!” in its face.

🎸 ENTER: PUNK ROCK FACTORY (THE OBVIOUS CHOICE)

If you’ve heard Punk Rock Factory’s take on the He-Man theme, you already know the deal.

They don’t cover nostalgia.
They pile-drive it into a mosh pit.

Fast guitars. Big hooks. Zero embarrassment. Maximum joy. The exact energy He-Man has always lived in — daft, loud, and proud of it. 🤘🔥

This isn’t parody. It’s celebration. It understands that childhood themes aren’t delicate museum pieces — they’re battle hymns for grown-up kids with knackered knees and decent speakers.

🧠 THE TONE PROBLEM WITH MODERN REBOOTS

Here’s the thing modern reboots keep forgetting:
Fun is not the enemy of quality.

He-Man doesn’t need to be “grounded”. Eternia has flying skulls and a man with a ram’s head for a helmet. The second you try to make it serious, it collapses under its own loincloth.

A Punk Rock Factory theme would’ve told audiences instantly:

“Relax. This knows exactly what it is.”

Instead, we’ll likely get something that sounds expensive, epic… and completely afraid of being silly.

Which is mad, because silly is the point.

🍿 IMAGINE THE CINEMA MOMENT

Picture it. Lights down. Logo hits. Sword rises.
Instead of polite strings…

BANG.
Drums explode. Guitars kick the doors off Castle Grayskull.
Half the audience instinctively shouts the words. Someone spills a £7 lager. 🍺😈

That’s not chaos — that’s community.

That’s the difference between a film you watch and a moment you remember.

🏰 A MISSED OPPORTUNITY OF ETERNIAN PROPORTIONS

This one hurts because it was so obvious. The band exists. The version exists. The nostalgia is right there, begging to be turned up to eleven.

Somewhere in an alternate universe, this film opens with Punk Rock Factory, the pit opens between cinema seats, and Skeletor crowd-surfs into the chorus. 💀🤘

This universe? We’ll just have to imagine it louder.

Hollywood, if you’re listening:
Next reboot. Less restraint. More riffs.

By the power of Grayskull — book the band next time, mun. ⚔️🔥
