Well, that’s not the headline we thought we’d be writing in 2025, but here we are. Even Mr. Danger Zone himself — Kenny bloody Loggins — has had enough of Donald Trump’s nonsense.
After a bizarre (and yes, slightly gross) viral video started making the rounds featuring Trump and a remixed version of Loggins’ iconic hit, the smooth-rock legend was not amused. The clip, created by Trump supporters, reportedly used Loggins’ track in a meme-style edit that quickly spread across social media.
But Kenny ain’t having it. Speaking out this week, he said:
“I can’t imagine why anybody would want their music used or associated with something created with the sole purpose of dividing us.”
🔥 Boom. Straight out of the soft-rock comfort zone and into the moral mosh pit.
This isn’t the first time Trump’s team has landed in hot water for using music without permission — everyone from The Rolling Stones to Linkin Park to Neil Young has told him to stop nicking their tunes for rallies or videos.
Loggins’ message, though, hits harder because it cuts through the noise: it’s not just about copyright — it’s about values.
He’s basically saying, “Don’t drag my music into your circus, pal.” 🎪
For fans, it’s another reminder that even the smoothest dudes in rock have limits. You can take the man out of the ‘80s soundtrack montage, but you can’t take the conscience out of the man.
