Rumours have been swirling louder than a Marshall stack at full tilt – whispers that Toto guitar wizard Steve Lukather might be laying down licks for a mysterious new Van Halen album. 🚨
But Lukather, never one to mince words, has stepped up to set the record straight. Speaking out on the speculation, he laughed off the idea, calling it “just internet noise” and insisting there’s no secret VH comeback record with him involved.
👉 “I love those guys, always have, but no, I’m not playing on any new Van Halen album,” Lukather said. “People hear one thing, and suddenly it turns into gospel on social media. Trust me – if Eddie were still with us, then maybe we’d be talking about something wild.”
The chatter kicked off after a podcast host claimed Lukather had been spotted in the studio with Wolfgang Van Halen – and like a dodgy Download Festival rumour about “Metallica doing a secret tent set,” it spread like wildfire. 🔥
Instead, Lukather confirmed he’s been busy with his own projects, including work with Ringo Starr’s All-Starr Band and new Toto material.
So for now, Van Halen fans might have to put those reunion dreams back in the drawer alongside Chinese Democracy 2 and “Guns N’ Roses with Steven Adler again.” 😅
