Well… Holy Wars might be over, mun. The mighty Megadeth have announced that 2026 will see their final studio album and a farewell world tour. After more than 40 years of neck-snapping riffs, political jabs, and solos so fast they could start small fires, Dave Mustaine & Co. are hanging up the bullet belts — on their own terms.

- Final album: Dropping sometime in 2026 — artwork teased, but no tracklist yet. Expect shred, snarls, and probably one ballad that still manages to sound like a nuclear missile launch.
- Farewell tour: A global trek in 2026, so start limbering up your mosh pit muscles now. Dates TBA.
- The line-up: Dave Mustaine (vocals/guitar), James LoMenzo (bass), Dirk Verbeuren (drums), and Teemu Mäntysaari (guitar) — the final horsemen.

Dave Mustaine, 63, says it’s all about going out on a high:
“This isn’t a sad thing — it’s a celebration of everything we’ve done together.”
Considering the man’s survived band breakups, throat cancer, and 80s hairstyles that could frighten small children, this feels like the right way to call time. Proper job, Dave.
