Status Quo legend Francis Rossi is keeping the boogie train rolling, butt — and this one’s got more stops than a valleys bus with a dodgy timetable.

The Quo icon has announced a massive 31-date second leg of his ‘Songbook: Quo – Past, Present, Future’ tour for 2027, following the already announced 2026 run. The new stretch will take Rossi across the UK throughout March, April and May 2027, giving fans another chance to dive headfirst into one of British rock’s most beloved back catalogues.

And yes, mun — Wales is getting some proper love.

Rossi will bring the tour to Cardiff New Theatre, The Hafren in Newtown, and Swansea Grand Theatre, meaning Welsh Quo fans have not one, not two, but three chances to get down down and boogie like the knees still work.

A Night Of Quo Classics, Deep Cuts And Proper Storytelling 🎤

This isn’t just a standard greatest-hits bash where everyone turns up, sings the big ones, buys a T-shirt and heads home with ringing ears.

The ‘Songbook: Quo – Past, Present, Future’ show is built around Francis Rossi digging into the mighty Quo vault and bringing out a mix of Status Quo classics, fan favourites, deeper cuts, curveballs and selections from his own solo catalogue.

Basically, it’s the kind of night where casual fans get the big singalong moments, while the die-hards in denim waistcoats get to nudge each other and go, “Oh tidy, didn’t expect that one.”

Alongside the music, the show will also feature Rossi talking through the songs, sharing stories and giving fans insight into a career that has helped soundtrack British rock for decades.

Because let’s be honest — if Francis Rossi’s got stories, we’re listening.

The Quo Machine Keeps Rolling 🎸

Few names in British rock are as instantly recognisable as Francis Rossi. As the voice, guitarist and co-founder of Status Quo, he helped turn boogie rock into a national institution.

From festival fields to arenas, pubs, car stereos, family parties and every dad’s sacred CD wallet, Quo songs have been everywhere. They’re part of the furniture — except this furniture wears denim, plugs into a Marshall stack and refuses to sit still.

The beauty of a theatre tour like this is that it gives the songs a slightly different setting. You’re not just getting the riffs — you’re getting the history, the humour, the craft and the stories behind them.

And for fans who have followed Quo through the decades, that’s a proper treat.

Wales Gets Three Dates — Tidy! 🐉

The Welsh dates are looking especially tasty:

Cardiff New Theatre – Thursday 1st April 2027
The Hafren, Newtown – Friday 2nd April 2027
Swansea Grand Theatre – Tuesday 20th April 2027

That’s South Wales, Mid Wales and Swansea all getting a slice of the Quo action. Lovely stuff.

Expect theatres full of lifelong fans, big grins, air guitars, nostalgic singalongs and at least one bloke called Dai who absolutely insists he saw Quo “back in the day” and has the tour programme to prove it.

And fair play — he probably did.

VIP Soundcheck Experience Available On Selected Dates 🎟️

For fans wanting to make a full night of it, selected shows also include a VIP Soundcheck Experience.

That gives fans the chance to get closer to the action with access to soundcheck, extra performance moments and exclusive tour goodies. It’s the sort of thing that makes collectors twitch with excitement and gives proper Quo devotees something extra special to stick in the memory bank.

If you’re going big, go full Quo goblin mode. No judgement here.

The Riff Report Verdict 🤘

Francis Rossi taking the Quo songbook back out on the road feels like one of those tours that just makes sense.

Big songs? Absolutely.
Stories? You’d better believe it.
Welsh dates? Three of them, mun.
A room full of fans ready to sing every chorus like it’s last orders? Guaranteed.

This is more than nostalgia. It’s a celebration of one of British rock’s most enduring catalogues, led by one of the people who helped build it from the ground up.

So dig out the denim, warm up the vocal cords and prepare for a night of proper Quo magic.

Down down? More like get down the front, butt. 🎸🔥
