The progressive metal universe is about to get a whole lot bigger, mun! 🇩🇰🔥
Hailing from Kolding, Denmark, KINETIC are proving that the future of progressive metal isn’t just about lightning-fast riffs and impossible time signatures—it’s about creating an experience. With atmospheric soundscapes, cinematic storytelling and music that feels like a journey through the stars, the band are preparing to make a serious impact with their upcoming full-length concept album, Liminal.
Already making waves following the release of their acclaimed debut EP Sentience, KINETIC have now signed with Eclipse Records, setting the stage for their biggest adventure yet.
🌠 Meet KINETIC
KINETIC was born in 2022, when guitarist David Thing and bassist Christian Filskov Heitmann joined forces with one ambitious goal: to create progressive metal that pushes boundaries without losing sight of emotion and storytelling.
The lineup has steadily evolved into a powerhouse of musicians, featuring:
- 🎤 René Hougaard – Lead Vocals
- 🎸 David Thing – Guitar & Backing Vocals
- 🎸 Christian Filskov Heitmann – Bass
- 🎹 Marcus H. Levin – Synths
- 🥁 Rune Görlitz – Drums
Each member brings something unique to the table, combining technical brilliance with a shared passion for creating music that’s immersive, cinematic and emotionally powerful.
🌌 Progressive Metal With a Cosmic Heart
Forget predictable song structures.
KINETIC build worlds.
Their music blends crushing modern metal riffs with soaring ambient textures, intricate arrangements and expansive compositions that unfold like chapters in a science fiction novel.
The band’s lyrical themes explore:
✨ Cosmic exploration
🪐 Humanity’s place in the universe
🧠 Consciousness and identity
⚖️ Chaos versus control
🌌 Existential reflection
Rather than simply writing songs, KINETIC invite listeners on a journey where every riff, melody and atmospheric passage helps tell a much bigger story.
It’s progressive metal with genuine heart—and plenty of heaviness to satisfy riff addicts.
🚀 Sentience Opened the Door…
Released in 2025, debut EP Sentience introduced fans to the band’s ambitious vision.
The EP showcased everything that makes KINETIC stand out:
🔥 Technical musicianship
🌠 Massive cinematic atmospheres
🎼 Dynamic songwriting
🎭 Emotional depth
It was only the beginning.
🌑 Liminal Takes Everything Further
Now comes the next evolution.
KINETIC’s debut full-length album, Liminal, promises to expand every aspect of the band’s sound while diving deeper into the concepts first introduced on Sentience.
Expect:
🎸 Bigger riffs
🌌 Even grander soundscapes
🥁 Crushing rhythms
🎹 Rich atmospheric synth layers
🎤 Powerful vocal performances
🎼 Long-form progressive compositions that reward every listen
The album explores the space between certainty and uncertainty—the “liminal” state where transformation happens.
It’s a record built on contrast, balancing crushing heaviness with delicate ambience, technical precision with emotional vulnerability, and the infinite scale of the cosmos with deeply personal human reflection.
Sounds lush, doesn’t it?
🤝 A New Era with Eclipse Records
Another huge milestone for the band comes with their signing to Eclipse Records, giving KINETIC the platform to introduce their music to progressive metal fans around the world.
It’s a massive step for a band that’s been steadily building momentum through dedication, creativity and a refusal to follow the beaten path.
If Liminal delivers on everything the band has promised—and everything Sentience hinted at—then KINETIC could soon find themselves rubbing shoulders with some of modern progressive metal’s biggest names.
🎤 The Riff Report Says…
Progressive metal is thriving right now, but standing out takes more than technical ability.
It takes vision.
From everything we’ve seen and heard so far, KINETIC have that in abundance.
They’re not chasing trends or trying to recreate someone else’s formula. Instead, they’re crafting immersive musical experiences that blend crushing heaviness, cinematic storytelling and thought-provoking themes into something uniquely their own.
With a talented lineup, an exciting new record on the horizon and the backing of Eclipse Records, this Danish outfit looks ready to blast onto the international stage.
We’ll definitely be keeping these lads firmly on our radar.
🤘 Will KINETIC Be Your Next Favourite Prog Metal Band?
If your playlist already includes bands that mix technical brilliance with atmosphere, emotion and epic storytelling, KINETIC deserve your attention.
One thing’s for certain…
The countdown has begun, and this Danish rocket looks ready for launch. 🚀🔥
