Well slap my tambourine and call me Bonehead – it’s actually happening. Oasis have only gone and reunited, and where did they choose to rip the plaster off? CARDIFF, MUN! 🏟️🔥
After 5,795 days (that’s 15 years, 10 months, and a shedload of passive-aggressive tweets), the Gallagher brothers finally parked the beef long enough to detonate the Principality Stadium with a comeback gig that was louder than your da’s snoring during Antiques Roadshow.
🎤 “IS ANYONE MAD FER IT?!” – Liam, probably, to a sea of pint-wielding maniacs
We were there. We saw it. We still can’t hear properly. From the second Liam swaggered out looking like a wounded owl in a parka, the place went absolutely tonto. Noel followed, looking like a divorced geography teacher who’s just discovered riffs again, and together they delivered a biblical Britpop battering to 75,000 delirious fans.
It was like watching your parents renew their vows at Glastonbury… while setting fire to your childhood bedroom. Emotional, chaotic, and somehow… lush.
🧨 THE SETLIST THAT COULD RAISE THE DEAD:
They didn’t mess about. No filler. All killer. Here’s a few bangers they unleashed on the Cardiff crowd like musical molotovs:
- Rock ‘n’ Roll Star – and every person there believed they were one.
- Morning Glory – sounded like it was hurled from a mountaintop by the gods of Britpop.
- Supersonic – so loud it reset a few pacemakers.
- Some Might Say – we cried, sang, and headbutted the air.
- Live Forever – mate, if this song doesn’t make your soul vibrate, check your pulse.
- Wonderwall – obviously. Everyone. Knew. Every. Word.
- Champagne Supernova – 9 minutes of spiritual rebirth in a sweaty stadium.
AND THEN – surprise treats like Talk Tonight and Acquiesce for the proper anoraks in the crowd. Tidy!
🤯 CROWD REPORT: “I WAS WEEPING INTO MY GREGGS SAUSAGE ROLL!”
Honestly, the place was like a karaoke night in Valhalla. Some fans were emotional. Others were shirtless by song three. One lad near us screamed:
“I’VE BEEN WAITING FIFTEEN BLOODY YEARS FOR THIS AND NOW I’VE LOST MY VOICE AND MY WIFE!”
Another was sobbing into his pint and muttered:
“This is better than the birth of my first child.”
There was laughter, lighters, lager, and Liam calling someone a “potato-flavoured balloon” – we’re not sure why, but it felt right. 🍟🎈
🍺 LIAM’S CARDIFF PUB CRAWL – SPOTTED!
Word on the cobbled streets is that Liam popped into a Cardiff boozer earlier in the day for a cheeky pint. Rumours he ordered a Brains Dark and yelled “Who the f**k put curry on my chips?” remain unconfirmed. But one thing’s for sure – the man is a living meme with sideburns.
🧳 WHAT’S NEXT? TOUR MADNESS CONTINUES!
Tonight was just Night One of Chaos. The Oasis reunion train is hurtling across the UK with the subtlety of a stampeding sheep. If you’ve got tickets, we envy you. If not… prepare to sell a kidney on Depop or do some light insurance fraud.
They might fall out again by Birmingham – so soak it up while you can!
📸 RIFF REPORT RUNDOWN:
✅ Band tensions? Still there – but funny now
✅ Crowd volume? Louder than a dragon’s fart
✅ Merch prices? Silly, but take our money anyway
✅ Energy? Like 1996 was reborn, but with more back pain
✅ Overall verdict? ABSOLUTE SCENES. 11/10. WOULD MOSH AGAIN.
🏴 “ONLY IN WALES, MUN…”
First gig of the biggest comeback in rock, and it happened right here. In the land of leeks, legends, and lager. Oasis came, saw, and made Cardiff the centre of the Britpop universe for one glorious night.
So from us lot at The Riff Report – diolch for the memories, the tinnitus, and the tears.
Now pass the paracetamol and let us lie down in a dark room.
📸 Got photos, videos, or stories from the gig?
🎤 Send them to The Riff Report and we’ll share the best ones. Bonus points for bucket hats and dodgy Oasis tattoos.
Stay loud. Stay daft. Stay mad fer it. 🤘😎

Michael is the founder, editor, and chief riff wrangler behind The Riff Report, an independent Welsh rock and metal publication built by fans, for fans. With a lifelong passion for loud guitars, unforgettable live shows, and the incredible community that surrounds rock and metal, he created The Riff Report to celebrate everything that makes the scene special—from legendary headline acts and grassroots venues to rising bands that deserve to be heard.
A familiar face at festivals across the UK, Michael spends much of the year covering events including Download Festival, Bloodstock Open Air, Steelhouse Festival, Firevolt, Plumpton Revival, and many more. Whether he’s battling the Welsh weather on a mountainside, surviving a weekend in a muddy campsite, or squeezed against the front barrier with thousands of fellow fans, he’s always searching for the next great story to share.
As editor of The Riff Report, Michael writes festival guides, breaking news, album reviews, gig reviews, interviews, opinion pieces, nostalgia features, and behind-the-scenes stories from across the rock and metal world. His writing combines honest opinions, humour, and a genuine love for live music, bringing readers closer to the bands, festivals, venues, and people that keep the scene alive.
Michael is particularly passionate about supporting independent artists, local venues, charities, and the wider UK rock and metal community. He believes every band deserves a chance to be discovered and every festival has a story worth telling. Through The Riff Report, he aims to shine a spotlight on both the biggest names in rock and the future stars waiting to break through.
When he’s not writing or interviewing artists, you’ll probably find him exploring festival campsites, photographing live shows, chatting with fellow fans over a pint, or planning the next road trip in search of more riffs, bigger crowds, and unforgettable moments.
Above all, Michael believes rock and metal are about more than music—they’re about community, friendship, and creating memories that last a lifetime. That’s exactly what The Riff Report exists to celebrate.
Proudly Welsh. Proudly Loud. Always chasing the next great riff. 🤘
