🇧🇷 WHO THE HELL ARE SEPULTURA?

Formed by teen brothers Max and Igor Cavalera, Sepultura (which means “grave” in Portuguese — tidy name, that!) rose out of 1980s Brazil like a flaming middle finger to military dictatorship, poverty, and musical mediocrity.

Starting as raw death-thrash, they evolved into one of the most forward-thinking bands in metalmixing tribal percussion, political fury, groove-laden riffs, and crushing heaviness into their own unique sound.

And they did it all while singing about the struggle of the people, not dragons or devils.

They’ve outlasted trends, splits, and sceptics — and they’re still going strong.

💥 THE ROTTING LINE-UP(S)

🧡 WHY SEPULTURA MATTER – STILL

Because they:

  • Took metal global — from Brazil to the world
  • Mixed cultures, percussion, and politics into a brutal cocktail
  • Refused to die after losing both founding brothers
  • Helped create groove, nu-metal, and progressive death hybrids
  • Inspired a whole new wave of South American metalheads 🤘

They don’t just play heavy music — they are a movement.

🎤 FINAL VERDICT FROM THE RIFF REPORT:

Sepultura is evolution, rebellion, and rhythm made flesh.
From graveyard riffs to jungle drums, from political fury to prog concept albums — they’ve done it all.

They showed the world that metal wasn’t just white, Western, or one-dimensional.
It was global. Groovy. And goddamn glorious.

SEPULTURA STILL REFUSES. STILL RESISTS. STILL RULES. 🔥🌍🪘
