The Wacken Foundation, in collaboration with UKE Hamburg, is holding a special Blood Donation Day on Saturday, 22 August 2026, giving rock and metal fans the chance to do something genuinely important while bagging themselves some rather tasty exclusive merch in the process.
And yes, before anyone asks β there are metal shirts involved. π€

Those taking part in the Blood Donation Day can secure an exclusive UKE shirt, with the promotional artwork showing two seriously cool designs.
One comes in classic black with a suitably gnarly red design, while another arrives in pink with black artwork.

Thereβs sometimes still a ridiculous stereotype surrounding heavy metal fans β that weβre all permanently furious creatures lurking in dark rooms while listening to guitars tuned somewhere around the Earthβs core.
Spend five minutes at a metal festival and youβll discover the reality.
Someone falls in the pit? Theyβre picked straight back up.
Someone loses their phone? Half the campsite suddenly becomes a search party.
Tent destroyed by weather? Somebody will find you a spare peg, roll of tape or at least a beer while you stare mournfully at the wreckage.
And when thereβs an opportunity to help people?
The metal community has repeatedly shown up.
