🚰 WATER POINTS – WHERE TO REFILL IN BLACKWEIR FIELDS

Cardiff Council confirmed free water refill stations were available across the site — but they weren’t exactly well signposted, were they mun? 🙄 Here’s where to find ‘em next time:

🎯 Main Water Points:

  • Near the Food Court: Just behind the big burrito van and near the vegan curry stand 🌯
  • Stage Left (Facing the Stage): Look for the white tap trailer with blue signage.
  • Accessible Viewing Area: Dedicated refill station near the entry path for those with access wristbands ♿
  • Toilets Hub (Back Field): One refill pipe attached to the outer toilet block (be patient, there’s a queue!)

👉 TIP: Bring a collapsible bottle or hydration backpack. Security were fine with empty bottles under 1L. Anything over that and they might bin it. 😤

☀️ STAY SAFE IN THE SUN (OR RAIN, ‘CAUSE WALES)

🌡️ HEATWAVE? DO THIS:

  • Drink every hour, even if you don’t feel thirsty
  • Grab electrolyte tabs at the merch or medical tent
  • Wear a hat – even a free one from AO like at Oasis Heaton Park 🧢
  • Know the signs of heatstroke: dizziness, confusion, headaches, nausea = get help fast

🌧️ RAINY DAY?

  • Still drink water – being wet doesn’t mean you’re hydrated 😅
  • Keep bottles sealed and inside a bag – you don’t want swamp juice in your mouth

⛔ What You CAN’T Bring In:

  • No metal or glass bottles – they’ll be confiscated
  • No alcohol (unless you smuggle it like a pro… but we didn’t tell you that 😉)
  • No massive coolers – this ain’t a family BBQ
  • No refillable flasks over 1L – unless medically approved

✅ What You SHOULD Bring:

  • Reusable bottle under 1L
  • Suncream – security ain’t taking that off you
  • Cooling towel or mist spray bottle
  • A proper attitude and your best shouting voice 🎤

💥 Final Tips

  • If you feel faint, go to the medical tent immediately – they’ve got the good stuff (hydration salts and shade!)
  • Buddy system = legendary. Don’t let your mate wander off dehydrated.
  • If the taps run dry, report it – it’s your right to stay alive, butt! ✊
