By The Riff Report – Because you can do a sequel in your mum’s basement, mun.

🎬 What’s Occurring?

Alright butt, so you’ve conquered cable access, met Alice Cooper, and made “We’re not worthy!” a national chant. What next?

You throw your own music festival, obviously. Enter Wayne’s World 2 – the bigger, dumber, more chaotic sequel where Wayne Campbell and Garth Algar trade their basement for backstage passes, and try to launch Waynestock, a rock festival inspired by a vision of Jim Morrison and a naked Indian in a desert.

Yes. That happens. And yes… it’s glorious nonsense. 😅

🧠 The Plot (Barely):

Here’s your tidy breakdown:

  • Wayne (Mike Myers) dreams of organizing Waynestock.
  • Garth (Dana Carvey) falls for a femme fatale (Kim Basinger) who makes him feel… funny.
  • Cassandra (Tia Carrere) gets courted by a sleazy record exec who’s definitely not Rob Lowe this time (but might as well be).
  • Del Preston, a washed-up British roadie with tales of Lemmy-related tea disasters, becomes their Yoda.
  • Hijinks, sabotage, and multiple fake endings ensue.

If Wayne’s World 1 was an air-guitar solo in your bedroom, this is the full stadium tour with pyro, dodgy hair extensions and five too many beers. 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺

🤘 Best Bits That Still Rock:

  • 🦷 Del Preston’s stories: “I had to beat them to death with their own shoes…”
Might be the best side character in any comedy sequel, ever.
  • 🎤 Waynestock’s chaos:
Booking Aerosmith. Losing Aerosmith. Re-booking Aerosmith. It’s basically every UK festival organiser in May.
  • 😱 Garth’s awkward date:
A masterclass in cringe comedy. He basically becomes a small frightened animal in human form.
  • 🪩 The ballroom fight:
Because every film needs a kung-fu dream sequence with dubbed-over dialogue and surprise ninja Wayne.
  • 🎵 The soundtrack:
From Aerosmith to Golden Earring, it’s peak early-90s alt-rock. Stick it in your tape deck and GO.

🤔 Does It Hold Up?

Kinda? Look – it’s not as tight or fresh as the first one. But if you go in expecting pure silliness, Wayne’s World 2 still delivers like a pizza at 2am after six pints. 🍕

There’s less plot and more sketch-style randomness. But honestly, that’s part of the charm. It’s like a mate telling you about a mad weekend they barely remember – loud, disjointed, but full of heart.

😬 Bogus Bits:

  • The Cassandra storyline is recycled and kinda dull.
  • The fake endings gag doesn’t land as well this time.
  • Some jokes aged about as well as milk in a tour van.

But still… the vibe’s there. And that’s what counts.

🕶️ The Riff Report Vibes Checklist:

✅ Rock legends
✅ Absurd cameos
✅ Air guitar solos
✅ Festival chaos
✅ “I’m having a good time… NOT!” jokes
✅ British roadie rambling about needing 47 brown M&Ms and a llama
EXCELLENT!

🎤 Final Riff

Wayne’s World 2 is like your favourite band’s second album – not as legendary as the debut, but still banging if you give it time. It ups the absurdity, adds just enough heart, and keeps the guitars loud.

Del Preston alone is worth the price of admission. That man deserves a spin-off. Or a pub named after him in Swansea. “The Beaten With A Shoe Arms.” Proper job. 🍻

🤘 Riff Report Rating:

3.5/5 Spinal Tap Amps Turned to 11 🔊🔊🔊✨
+1 bonus point if you’ve ever tried to organise a gig using only a dream of Jim Morrison and a fax machine.

Party on, Wayne!
Party on, Garth!
Party on, Del Preston, you absolute legend.
